The Werewolf King's Bride

Chapter 404 A Restrained Life

(From Blue's Perspective)

Even if someone had never seen me or him, they would still know it was my twin brother. His face was hard and bored. His blue gaze was fixed on me as if examining me.

"It is the first time you two meet. You are twins," Azure said. "I believe both of you know that."

He made no motion as I gave a small nod. "I hope you two will get along, Blue and Cyan."

I refused to meet Cyan's eyes. I was afraid of what to see there. I did not want to see pure hatred and disgust for me in his eyes.

The food served looked good. But I had no appetite. My mind was filled with confusion, anxiety, and emptiness. I wanted to go back home. I wanted to go to my husband.

Dem surely was informed of my disappearance by now. Did he think I have run away on my own? Judging his character, he surely did if he had not found out anything. He surely did not find anything out as everything happened unexpectedly.

"How is Abel?" I asked.

"The King of Querencia's knight? He is fine."

"Is he?" I asked, eyeing Azure suspiciously.

"He is," he repeated. "I don't lie to you."

"Can I see him?"

"No," he replied bluntly.

"What? If he is fine, I should be able to see him!" I argued. "Why can't I see him? He is my knight!"

"The King of Querencia's knight."

"What the…? My goodness! I am the wife of the King of Querencia and that makes me the Queen of Querencia. Is a knight of Querencia not my knight?"

"Well, that was in the past," he shrugged.

"Past? What are you talking about?" I shouted, feeling my blood boil every time, he opened his mouth. Nothing good came out of there.

He gave a shallow smile and then went back to eating as if nothing happened. 'Bastard!'

"What about Reece? My assistant? What did you do to him?"

"He is alive too."

"Alive…?" I mumbled. "I want to see him."

"You can't," he said.

"Why not?"

"The answer is the same as why you can't go back to the life you were leading," he said, not taking his eyes off his food. "I believe you already know the answer."

"I don't understand anything! Why am I here? Do you want to use me? But I don't want it! I want to go back home! I have a family, okay?

And what's the point of kidnapping Reece and Abel too? They did nothing wrong!"

"You did nothing wrong too. Yet, I have brought you here," he said. "Ah, no, you made a wrong decision, the decision to stay with a random man."

"Random man? He is literally my husband and I have been with him for almost two years!" I yelled. "Then what did you think I would do? Come to a random person who maybe is my biological father and who I had never seen before?!"

"You don't understand. Probably because you are too young," he muttered.

'Ugh, this son of a…!'

"Can I this bracelet off?" I asked.

"Try taking it off," he said.

"No, I mean, can you take it off for me?"

"No."

I did not argue anymore. I was tired. Moreover, there was no point. In the end, he did what he wanted to do.

'Should I try to stab him? I have a knife. It's not sharp though, as it's for cutting the steak.'

"I am done," I said.

"Cyan will take you to your room. You are done too Cyan, aren't you?"

"I am not," Cyan replied. It was the first time he talked. I had heard his voice before too though.

"Take her to her room," Azure said.

'But he is not done, though…?'

Cyan stood up without a word and started walking faster, leaving me behind. I quickened my pace to keep up with him.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"… Have you entered my body again after that time?" I asked.

"No," he replied, not slowing down at all. "Did you?"

"No…"

That was the end of the conversation. He took me to my room. I went inside hesitantly. He suddenly grabbed me by my arms and pushed me against the wall, almost hitting my head against the hard wall.

"I fucking hate you!"

His blue eyes, colder than ice, were filled with anger and hatred. But for some reason, I did not see disgust in them. That was not enough to make me not fear him. I was already afraid. Having a brother always scared me and there was a valid reason for that.

"I wish you were dead," he whispered into my ears before leaving without a word.

I was dumbstruck. What was this guy talking about? We barely knew each other. But he already hated me? Did he even know me enough to hate me? Did he have a reason to hate me?

To be honest, he looked like someone who was on drugs.

I did not move from the place. My legs felt weak. I sat down on the floor, wrapping my arms around my knees.

"Honey… I miss you," I mumbled as I felt tears gathering up in my eyes. "I promise I will try. I will try to come back to you soon."

"That's not happening."

"What the fuck…?!"

It was that creepy man again. "What are you doing in my room?"

"As our lord ordered, I am to be by the princess's side all the time."

"But… I need to sleep!"

"The princess is free to do so."

"What will you do then?"

"Maybe I will enjoy myself."

"Enjoy yourself? Doing what?"

"Who knows?"

I shuddered. "Princess, do you need help to get up? The floor is cold," he said, advancing towards me.

"No! I don't need help!" I quickly said, getting up.

I looked around the room again. There was no couch. There was a chair and a table in one corner. Just as I motioned to sit down on the chair, he stopped me.

"It's time to sleep, Princess."

"I don't want to. I slept for a long time. Move out of the way."

"I want that chair, though. You can use the bed."

"Aren't you my father's servant?"

"Yes," he grinned, inching way too close to me that his lips were barely an inch away from my ear, "but not yours."

I did not know if it was impulsive, but I punched him right in the face. Even my mind was not fast enough to keep up with my sudden action.

"Ow!"

"Ah…?"

'What the hell have I done? I am not supposed to hit him…! What if he uses magic?'

He wiped the blood off his nose and looked at me, with a menacing grin on his face. "Princess is quite strong, it seems."

I breathed heavily, knowing the mistake I made. I let my emotions take over me. I should not have punched him.

*knock*

As if a storm just passed by, I sighed in relief. It did not matter who it was. I just needed someone else to be here. Being alone with this creepy man was too scary and risky.

He gave me an odd look with that cursed grin and went to open the door. As soon as he opened the door, I heard a cold and disgusted voice.

"Too long! What were you doing?"

'Cyan…'

Cyan walked into the room as if it was his. Not that I minded. On the other hand, I was grateful that he had come. He had come at the right time.

"You can go now. I have gotten permission from my father to be with my twin sister. It seems we two need some time to properly get to know each other," he said. "Why don't you leave now, Lloid?"

'Ah, such a good name wasted on a creep like his…'

"But our lord has said nothing that sorts to me."

"Are you doubting me now?" Cyan asked angrily. "Get the fuck out!"

Lloyd seemed reluctant to get out but did so. But before leaving, he gave me a rather odd look again.

"Go to sleep," Cyan said to me in his usual cold tone.

"Ah, right…"

At least, he would not do anything weird. I did not feel uncomfortable around him as well. He seemed very familiar even though I had never met him in person before.

I got on the bed and lay down, feeling slightly relieved. "Um…"

"What?" he asked as he took a seat on the chair.

"Thanks."

"Why?"

"Uh… I… That guy…"

"You know, I don't care if you die, I don't care if you get hurt. Maybe I would be happy too if you just leave this world," he said. "But, not that. I don't want anything disgusting to happen."
