Chapter 265 True Clone
The ghostwave mutant swung its arched tail and sent a massive energy blast my way for the umpteenth time and once again, I was met with attacks at speeds much faster than light, yet, of which I could escape from.
I teleported away from the red streaks of energy, appearing in between places, almost as if I was omnipresent in that battlefield. I left afterimages, moved with an agility that was slightly alien to me. The fight, this fight was pushing me, and I was getting faster and stronger.
Suphas roared, it might have control over the battle at the moment, but I bet that it was getting frustrating over me avoiding its blows. To it, I was probably a pesky roach that refused to die, and I know how upsetting that can be.
The earth tore open, and spikes of jutting rocks came at me from below. I turned, twisted, trying hard to finesse my way across the rock spikes.
"Stay in spot fly. Why resist? You will die eventually, isn't it best to make it quick and painless?"
'Do not underestimate me, you ghost man bug.' I could have sworn that I actually did yell that, but I didn't. It would have been fun to see the ghostwave mutant reaction.
I zoomed and then remained at a distance, levitating while watching my archenemy. My near-indestructible Haven over me, keeping me protected within its warm embrace.
I raised my right arm and then thrust it forward, mentally sending my unexisting energy rocks at my foe.
I looked to my hand, and then realized,
"Oh, right." My energy rocks were gone. They were my most precious items within my arsenal and their absence had my combat ability dwindle a bit.
Staying in a place like a target, my opponent thought to utilize the opportunity, and it opened its wide maw, its lower jaw descending as if it was elastic, and then red destructive energy gathered in between them.
The gathered energy bounced off its mouth and came storming at me. A reckless part of me wanted to take the attack headstrong, uncaring about what might happen to me, and largely just caring about how my Haven would hold up against it.
However, I did pick the wiser option, which was to get out of harm's way before I got hit. I teleported just a few meters above the energy blast, Suphas saw this, turned its head, having the blast drift my way. I teleported away, but the behemoth was unrelenting and it sent its destructive energy everywhere setting the destroyed burning terrain in flames some more.
It stomped its ugly insectoid legs, and struck its trident on the ground. It suddenly turned, sensing me behind it. I was charging up a dark flame attack. It turned and opened its maw in a single motion–like a mechanical bot and sent another massive ball of energy my way once again.
My eyes widened, and I decided to take the risk. The dark flames burst from my hands and zoomed like a wave of the ocean, and the two opposing powerful forces collided.
There was a blinding spark, I couldn't see what had happened, but I was thrown back. Flung backwards like an explosion came off on my face and I tumbled in the air until I crashed on burning rocks and whatever it was that was used to make buildings in the hidden city.
I crashed terribly, but a shield had come over me. Haven was almost like a reflex ability at this point. Almost every time I recognize danger, it comes atop me and takes the brunt of the looming danger.
I would say that I only lived this long because of the skill.
Lying amongst the debris below, I felt the vibration Suphas's feet sent across the ground, and once I stood, I was exposed to an even more daunting image of it. I was by its feet, and truly I was a fly when size was considered. Just how did I fight this creature?n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
I saw it turning its head around, searching for me. Something however happened, it took me by surprise, but it was expected of an enemy as powerful as it was. It was only fitting it had such a move.
It struck its trident on the ground ,and a powerful wave swept across, sending all that it sweeps over above. The broken rocks that got swept over and now levitated, vibrated violently, my eyes squinted at the scene as I watched rocks move so strangely that it was almost like they didn't move but where stuck and then at the same time were torn apart by some unseen force.
They swiftly crumbled to nothing, and that wave too came for me. It was a shallow sea of transparent purple. Nothing intimidating, and because of that, I chose to remain, trusting <Haven> of its protection over me.
The purple wave slammed into me and against my will, <Haven> was thrown above, and it slowly but evidently began vibrating.
The pace picked up slightly while I who was in faced the music. True to my sentiment, Haven did protect, I wasn't undulating like it was and I could very well deactivate it and escape the vibrating cage.
"There you are." Suphas spoke, and came running at me, its numerous legs a blur to my eyes. And as it did, it blurred and vibrated. It was strange. The ghostwaves were already freakishly weird looking, but seeing Suphas who might be over two hundred meters tall vibrate and blur as it came like an inescapable executioner was beyond daunting.
My eyes widened at the phenomenon, and then one became two, and then two became four, and before I knew it, sixteen Suphas all surrounded me, looking down at me in their midst as if I was a trapped mouse, and I could very well have been at that time.
