The Bodyguard System

It was so sudden that John had not anticipated something like this. At this moment, on this road that did not have many cars at the moment, something just landed in front of them.

Considering that it was Jaden that was driving, he of course reacted almost instantly. Just before the explosion occurred, Jaden sensed danger, and immediately stepped on the brakes of the car.

Screech!

The car tires scratched the tarmac, but Jaden was able to control the situation, managing to stop the car without having it roll over.

It was only after the car had stopped that the two of them could finally see what had landed in the middle of the road. At this moment, they could see that there was a person that was wearing a black mask on his face, blocking their path.

Just from what had happened, Jaden could immediately tell that this was a mutant. And if this was a mutant, that implied that he was the target.

He had already anticipated something like this was going to happen. But, why did it have to happen now? After all, he was just planning to go to the central province, and start taking action finally.

Of course, the first thing that he was planning to do was to find the laboratory that his parents had left behind. He was not sure about what was waiting for him in there, but he would just have to go there.

But before that happened, he would have to deal with the mutant that was currently blocking his path.

Neither Jaden nor John got out of the car. John of course understood that it was impossible for him to have any impact in such a situation, considering that they were dealing with the mutant.

It was better for him to stay close to Jaden, considering that that was the safest place that he could be. With Jaden being a mutant, and a strong one at that, it was clear that he was the one who had the highest capability of protecting him.

More than that, Jaden was his bodyguard, of course, it was his responsibility to protect him. So, John had no plans of going out of the car, unless Jaden wanted them to get out of the car at the moment.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Jaden on the other hand had already detected the movements that were occurring around them. It was clear that it was not just a single person that had come over, but instead, it was several.

From the sounds of movements around them, Jaden could tell that there were at least three people. Adding the one that was already blocking their part, that would bring in a total of four.

It was also at this moment that Jaden finally understood that the Raven Mercenary group and Smith family were not that simple. To have so many mutants, and considering that each and every time, the ones that would come would be stronger than the previous ones, it was clear that they were formidable.

This immediately increased the belief that Jaden had that it was his parents that were involved with the presence of mutants within this world.

As for the reason why the information about his parents had changed, Jaden also believed that it might be related to those two forces. Otherwise, why would they try to hide the fact that his parents were scientists, other than just trying to cover up the crimes that they had committed.

Just as Jaden had anticipated, a little while later, three more people walked out of the forest that was on the sides of the road. From one side, came a man with a muscular build. On the other side, came a man and a lady, both of them having a medium build.

But there was one thing that was common among all the people that had come over. That was the fact that their faces were currently covered, making it impossible to be able to tell who they were.

Nevertheless, just from the killing intent that they were giving out, it was clear that they were here to kill. And the target of the killing intent was none other than Jaden.

Jaden continued remaining inside the car, and neither of the four people made any move. It was only about 2 minutes later that finally, Jaden was sure that there was no any other mutant that was hiding around.

As for the four, it seemed that they had already gotten impatient waiting. Immediately, the man with the muscular build immediately began approaching them.

Well, there were two of them that possessed muscular builds, including the person that had landed first, blocking their path. But, the one that was walking towards them was the one who had come out of the forest.

Looking at the guy that was approaching, Jaden could not help but be curious. What kind of ability did this guy possess?

For the first person that appeared, it appeared that he had an ability that allowed him to jump high, or maybe even an ability that allowed him to fly. Nevertheless, Jaden did not pay much attention to him, considering that there was someone that had to be dealt with.

"Hey brat, we already know that you are a mutant. We gave you the chance by waiting for 2 minutes, but you did not take it. It seems that he wants to die without us knowing what ability you possess." The moment that the muscular guy got in front of the car, he immediately said those words.

Jaden could not help but raise his brows slightly. The reason why this group of people had not acted was simply because they wanted to see him taking action? Well, that was new.

Jaden did not say anything in response, but instead, he opened the door of the car, ready to step out. But before going out of the car, he looked at John and told him, "Just stay inside there. Don't come out, no matter what."

John who had just gotten his hand to the doors handle, ready to open it immediately froze. Jaden wanted him to stay inside? But what if the car was crushed like the last time? Would he not be squashed inside here?

John wanted to say something, but in the end, he decided against it. He decided to trust Jaden. All this while, it was clear to him that Jaden did not have any ill intentions towards him.

Since that was the case, maybe this was the best decision at the moment. He would just have to stay within the car, and let Jaden handle the matter.

The thing that boosted his confidence was obviously the fact that Jaden did not seem to have tensed at all. Maybe this was something that he was capable of dealing with?

Until this day, John did not really know how strong Jaden was. The fights before ended quite quickly, which indicated that Jaden did not have to go all out, not having met an opponent of the same caliber.

John believed that this group of four was definitely stronger than the last one. He was not a fool, he already understood that since there was a group that was targeting Jaden, then this group that was here to attack was obviously from the same group.

It was Impossible for that group to send three people, who were killed, only to send four people of the same combat strength as the other three. These four had to be stronger than the previous three, at least by a small margin, right?

The moment that Jaden gave John the instructions, he immediately got out of the car. Then, he activated his telekinesis ability, completely enveloping the car. At this moment, even John did not realize it, but the car was actually floating in the air, just a few millimeters from the ground.

From the way that Jaden could control his ability, it was impossible for the four to be able to notice anything. So, they did not notice that Jaden had already used his ability, in order to envelope the car.

The reason for doing that was simple. Jaden was not sure if there was a person among before that possessed the telekinesis ability. If that person suddenly decided to use that car to smash it at him, or maybe crush the car, in order to kill the person inside, things would be difficult.

Jaden would of course not be able to protect John, if he was far away, and the person that possessed the telekinesis ability attacked first. That was the reason why Jaden decided to take the precautions.

"Okay. I'm going to give you another chance. I will give you the chance to strike first. Use whatever ability you have, and attack me. But it is only a single chance. After you attack, I'm going to destroy you." The bulky guy stated confidently.

Immediately after he said those words, he stood there, his arms crossed in front of his chest. He was looking at Jaden, anticipation clear in his eyes. But other than that, there was derision.

The guy waited, and more than a minute went by, but he did not feel that he was being attacked at all. Of course, he was not just anticipating Jaden to attack him physically, considering that till this day, they did not really know the ability that Jaden possessed.

Since Jaden was not attacking physically, he was anticipating something like telekinesis, or maybe something was going to stir inside his body. But until this time, he had not even felt slightly uncomfortable.

"Damn it! If you die, in your next life, you should never say that you were never given a chance to fight back!" The bulky guy stated, before immediately launching himself at Jaden.
