Chapter 156 - Angry
When I confirmed that the Royal Adviser was, in fact, a demon, I didn't want to play along with him like I did with Derek because there was little to no point in doing so.
Immediately, I dashed in his direction and took him down without a moment's thought. I didn't want to taunt him. I didn't want to play with him. I just wanted to obtain the information I wanted and get out of here. Within moments, I was now holding onto him, detaining him.
Amelia was shocked by my actions as she just ran in my direction with a frown on her face. She came right beside me and whispered, "Is something wrong? Are you sure that we should do this in front of… all of them?" Discover hidden stories at empire
I just smiled at her and said, "Yes, I just discovered this man is now a demon. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the nobles were also demons now that have infiltrated your kingdom."
Amelia's eyes widened as she just couldn't believe the words that had just come out of my mouth. It wasn't anything like she had expected. In fact, it was the furthest thing away from it. She thought that the nobles had been colluding and helping Zero, and that was it. But if they had become demons, then this was not something she could even attempt to forgive.
"I-Is that true? Did you really become one?" Amelia immediately asked the royal adviser.
He just smirked. "I just did what I thought was right… we have no chance of winning against them. If only you saw what I saw back then, you would have made the same decision as me… I swear. There is no way we're going to win. The people supporting them are way more powerful than any of us here. Even if this new boyfriend of yours supports you, you're all going to die."
"B-Boyfriend?" She blushed. "What are you talking about! He's not my boyfriend… yet."
She glanced at me while she uttered those words, trying to see my reaction. However, seeing that I didn't have any, she focused once more on the discussion before her.
"Siding with the demons isn't something that anyone should do, no matter what. Tell me, who else entered this deal with you?"
However, this time, the royal adviser stayed silent. It seemed he wasn't planning on revealing such information.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"Do you see all those girls behind me, standing in the cold?" Amelia asked him. "Well, they were all part of his "collection" of slaves. That's the man you were working for. A disgusting being that deserved nothing else but a painful death, and that's exactly what we gave him." Amelia shuddered. "Y-You're so disgusting… why would you even help such a man."
Tears started to form in the corner of her eyes as she continued to speak up. "I-I trusted you… and everyone else. J-Just, why did you have to betray me?"
I could see that Amelia was on the verge of breaking down; she was learning too many shocking things at once, and she just couldn't handle them. After all, she was still young from the looks of it, making her very emotional to most things like this.
"Amelia. I just did what was right for this kingdom. I did this for you. Everything I ever did was for you."
She shook her head. "If it was really for me, then you would have told me. You just did everything in my back, leaving me in the dark."
"Obviously, I did. Look at your reaction right now. That's why I didn't tell you everything. It would have made you panic for no real reason."
"No reason?! Are you absolutely crazy!" Amelia shouted as she slapped him right across the face in front of everyone. Then, she turned toward the rest of the Ice Elves. "All of you go back to your homes!"
Right away, most of the elves listened as they could clearly see that their queen was very angry, and they didn't want to be the ones suffering her wrath. Amelia's beautiful long hair suddenly started floating in the air behind her. Her eyes turned ice cold, and ice appeared in her hands.
"You fucking traitor!" She shouted as she froze his stomach as she saw his face squirming in pain.
I just watched as she did that, thinking that maybe Amelia wasn't that different from Emma right now. She was torturing him in a similar way to what they had done to Zero… and she didn't even need my help to do it.
I didn't say it out loud, but… it was pretty hot seeing her mad.
"Tell me. Who else made a deal with that demon!" She shouted.
"I-I don't know… a lot of us did," he muttered right away, no longer bothering to hide information.
"How did you even become a demon? What did he do to you? What were your plans for our kingdom?"
Amelia's questions kept coming out of her mouth, and I could feel her power getting stronger and stronger as time passed by. Her anger was making it harder for her to control herself, and to be honest, I was quite surprised by the amount of strength coming from her. It was definitely impressive, a lot more than I had judged.
She was way stronger than I had expected. Well, she was the queen of an entire kingdom. She was bound to be powerful.
"Let's go and see who the rest of the traitors are," I finally said, trying to regain control of the situation. After all, there was no point in torturing him in front of everyone. It was better to continue this in private so that Amelia could keep some faces for her subjects.
Amelia agreed quickly, and within a few moments, we were headed for the Ice Castle, where most nobles were hiding, not having the slightest clue of what was happening at the kingdom's gate.
I couldn't wait to see the look of shock on all of their faces when we arrived. It would surely be quite a funny sight.
