Warlock of Oceans: My Poseidon System

Chapter 96 The Apostle and General (Final)

"An apostle of death? Is that her class or something?"

"I-I mean, it could be, but another name for an apostle of death is an apostle of darkness. She's part of the dark temple. The demonic temple. The temple of death. Our reigning enemy for thousands of years. A-Are you a spy?"

"Of course not. She's a teacher at my school, and I'm part of a team from our school that specializes in assassination… wait, are you saying-"

"Dude, your school is a base of operations for The Temple of Darkness. Th-This is good information," The woman in front of me stuttered, but all of this went through one ear and out the other as something inside of me quivered.

"What the hell… I can't… breathe. Why is my chest being crushed?" I wheezed, the woman in front of me quickly getting out of her seat and sitting me back up straight.

"From what I heard, you have a strong connection with our god. A connection that is supposedly stronger than the boss. He said that you might be special in some way, so I guess just by mentioning the dark temple, that connection will affect you."

"That's a stupid explanation…." I groaned, slipping further and further into my chair until I was literally puffing clouds of exhaustion.

Small strings of steam made from the condensation in my mouth slithered their way out from my lips. But then, all of a sudden, just like that, in an instant… it stopped. And replacing that pressure was a panel that slowly floated in front of me.

"*sigh*... I knew it," I muttered under my breath. The woman in front of me saw this, but I just waved it off as me talking to myself before she could even speak up.

"Okay, well, anyways, how about we finish this meeting up for now? It's gone on for long enough, and I don't want to hold you here forever. I mean, you have school tomorrow, correct?" Azzaroth leaned forward, her smug smile immediately understanding that I wasn't much of a kid who was into going to school. "If there was one thing I'd change about my past… it would probably be dropping out. Sure, I turned out fine, but I wouldn't have had to experience so many hardships that probably could have killed me. So, make sure to go to school, alright?"

"Sure…" I loosely replied before giving the woman a firm handshake and heading off first. She had yet to finish her coffee, so I assumed she was still going to enjoy it while it was currently just lukewarm.

I guess now it's time to face my sister… I'll apologize to her.

(Azzaroth POV)

As I slowly sipped on my coffee, I continued to drag my pupils around the pure white walls covering the interior of the cafe. Waiters and waitresses were now scuffling about due to the influx of customers who were trying to escape from the rain.

"Ah, I should have bought him an umbrella… hopefully he doesn't catch a cold," I muttered, downing the last remaining drops of my coffee and then proceeding to the bathroom. I didn't need to use it, but just washed my hands peacefully, waiting for her to reveal herself.

"Quite a bold move, don't you think? This a single use bathroom, and you even decided to lock it. Did you think you could maybe beat me?" A feminine and dark voice scratched at the back of my head, and as the power of a deathly force loomed over me, I found my hands shivering as they were washed under the warm water.

"I could never beat you, but you would have never got off my back, no matter what. If I was caught dragging a fucking stain back to the base, then the boss wouldn't let it go," I smiled, slowly turning around with my pupils beginning to swirl like a whirlpool.

Slowly, they went from the darkest vanta-black to two gray skulls that caused the woman to take a few steps back. Her pure black pupils were just like mine as they shifted into two gray skulls, a drop of sweat nearly sliding into the left one as she took a step back.

Her long trenchcoat was a dry, large black hat, and her heels were completely dry, meaning she never left the cafe and was always observing us. And, of course, Cyrus wouldn't be aware of that because this woman was part of the special corps tasked with recruiting children.

"I'm sorry, but you're interfering with my mission. So, could you kindly back up and stop bugging me," I glared at the woman, who noticed a scythe slowly begin to phase up from the ground.

My hair fluttered in the bathroom, slowly reverting to its original dark green color, lightening the shade of my skin and allowing the jewelry I had been hiding to reveal itself.

"Hm? You're a teacher at the Academy of Blades, aren't you? I swear I've seen you before," The woman in front of me tilted one of her eyebrows. "Are you a spy meant to obtain information from the temple of light?"

"No, I was planted to establish good relations between the two temples, but you're severely fucking up my mission right now…."

"Huh? Why would we want to establish good relations?"

"You're too weak as of now to learn why. Rise up the ranks, and then you'll know the real reason why both of these temples exist."
