The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1322 Thinking Outside the Box

Princess Selene knew that she was not the one to talk, she was no better.

Seeing the Yule Moon God possessing Prince Leif's body, taking no account of the people of the Scarlet Banes Kingdom, she ran away because she realized, the battle was not fought to achieve justice.

It was more of a battle between Rex and the Lunirich Gods.

A lot of Werewolves came for the Bloodstone Crater, not for whatever that battle was for.

Despite her denial, Prince Alaric knew that she was only too prideful to surrender.

But then again, most of the Werewolves were going to be like her.

Helping her change her mind was Prince Alaric's first step to really make a change.

However, Prince Alaric could see that it was easier said than done.

Just from Princess Selene's countenance alone, he knew that she was still against him.

"Do you want more of our people to die, Princess Selene?"

"Of course not, I want our kind to prosper"

"Now that Prince Leif is dead, we are the only ones ruling over this kingdom. If you're against me in this and we fight, the entire kingdom will be split into two. And if that happened—it will be certain that our beloved kingdom will collapse"

"It would be better if you agree with me, Prince Alaric. We can fend for ourselves"

"Fend for ourselves? Compared to the other high-rank Supernatural races, our numbers were slowly diminishing. Our population is on a gradual decline, we lost a lot due to the recent war and bloodshed—and we could not replenish our numbers because the Royal Black Prince still held the strongest Werewolf title"

Even as his voice grew more frustrated, Prince Alaric kept his composure.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Looking at the magical fire proved to be helping him be composed so he kept his eyes there.

Not even needing to look, he knew Princess Selene was contemplating.

Before the elders were awakened, Baralt had already tried to tackle this issue.

He consulted with the Enchanters about repopulating their numbers by turning others—most likely Humans into Werewolves. But the Werewolves were incapable of doing that, because it was only the Werewolf with the purest bloodline that could turn Humans into Werewolves.

And the Werewolf who could do that was only Rex.

If he was not around, Prince Alaric or Princess Selene would be chosen as the next in line.

But getting rid of Rex was close to impossible so their population was stuck.

Each death was a precious Werewolf dying without any replacement.

Sighing to himself, Prince Alaric made one powerful stroke to sharpen his claws.

It created a spark that killed the magical fire.

"Don't you get it?" He said, staring at the trail of smoke—absent-mindedly. "If this goes on... the longer we remain stubborn, our race will be swallowed. If the Royal Black Prince, did not destroy us then the other high-rank Supernaturals or even the world would"

Such a realization was a hard pill to swallow.

Reality has no mercy and will always state the bitter truth.

One mistake is often enough to destroy anything, regardless of the rich history behind it.

Princess Selene stood up abruptly, she had heard enough.

"I'm sorry, but I can't. I will stand against you." She said dashing away and leaving the room.

Upon hearing this, Prince Alaric sighed.

He knew that a simple talk wouldn't be able to work on Princess Selene.

Considering that this was a new and foreign thing that had never happened in the ancient era—it was quite understandable that Princess Selene was acting like this. But even then, Prince Alaric has no intention of losing against her.

"I wish the Origin was here..." He muttered and closed his eyes to rest his mind.

...

Meanwhile, Dewmist Village.

Flunra and Gistella were still dealing with Shadow's minions.

Having a powerful affinity such as the Death element and being nearing the Greater realm made Shadow quite intelligent, the minions were harvesting kills, through the use of scare tactics that were extremely effective against fearful opponents.

It was now clear why the village chief and his family were targeted.

Seeing the leader break down in tears would be a devastating blow to the entire village.

A gut punch to their morale and spread chaos and fear through the population.

Once the morale was destroyed, the minions would then raid the village.

And the minions kept track of the village's condition by observing directly from the dark.

Like a stalker, it kept an eye on the village to see whether it was time to attack.

Considering that they were now going against a mutated animal, blessed with the power of an Order Beast, it was quite scary to think one was capable of being this intelligent. Such a thing should be impossible hadn't it been for the Second Breath.

Now, Queen Shanaela's forces along with Flunra and Gistella spread through the forest.

Despite trying their best, the minion managed to slip through their fingers.

It had no aura and was very nimble and quick.

Flunra walked beside Gistella, his sharp eyes darted left, and right to sense any motion in the surroundings. Both of them were already quite far from the Dewmist village, the minion didn't waste a single second and escaped instantly.

Upon sensing that there were many powerful entities in the village, it ran away.

A behavior that further ascertains Flunra's guess, that the minion was harvesting easy prey.

"Are you sure leaving the village and roaming here is the right thing to do?"

"Yes, that thing wouldn't come back. It would definitely change targets"

Earlier, Gistella suggested that they leave Dewmist Village in the protection of Hastios.

Both of them would make their way to the neighboring village.

Currently, they were at the middle point between the Dewmist Village and its neighbor.

Instead of going straight, Gistella took a left turn.

Seeing this, Flunra glanced to the other side and frowned in confusion.

"Aren't the village supposed to be that way?"

"We aren't going to the village"

"What do you mean?"

"Starting from here, we are going to suppress our aura"

Upon saying that, Gistella stopped in her tracks and closed her eyes.

She pulled back her aura to the point that it disappeared into her body, making her auraless.

Despite his confusion, Flunra did the exact same thing.

Both have enough energy control to do this but Gistella couldn't keep this up for long.

Unlike Flunra or Rex, she was lacking in energy control mastery so they needed to move fast.

"Search for a ninth-rank realm mutated jungle cat, and let me know if you see one"

"I don't know what you're aiming for but I'll trust you"

Continuing their way ahead, Flunra and Gistella came across a couple of sparkling gems.

Very small in size and went they investigated, these gems turned out to be death stones.

It contained a very small amount of death mana but was evidently there.

Seems like Shadow's influence began to spread.

Both of them take notes of this as every Order Beast might bring this kind of effect.

Eventually, after a silent hour of going through the forest through the bushes, Gistella found what she was looking for—the mutated jungle cat. It was a small black-furred creature, with gleaming golden eyes.

Despite its small stature and seemingly harmless, it was extremely dangerous.

It could grow in size and has incredible speed.

Gistella saw a couple of them taking down other predators in the forest.

Undoubtedly, this mutated jungle cat is the apex predator here.

"Let's follow it, make sure to not alert it or anything around of our presence"

"Okay"

Following the mutated jungle cat, Gistella was excited when she saw it meet up, with another of its kind. A female mutated jungle cat, and they seemed to be in quite a lovely mood. Flunra was watching these mutated animals snuggle on each other with a frown.

"Can you tell me why we are stalking them?"

"To find Shadow's minion, of course. I have an idea where it might go"

"What do these cats have to do with the minion? How could we find it through these cats?"

"Both of these cats are suitable prey for it, I'm sure of it"

"Prey...? What do you mean?"

Since there were still no signs of the minion anywhere, Gistella decided to shed some light.

It would be better if Flunra knew what she was trying to do too.

"I'm the one who knew the most when Rex was making his moves against the Fifthborn, and I learned a couple of things from him," She explained—her eyes squinting. "One of them is that take into account who we are up against"

Gistella knew how Rex played with the Fifthborn's superiority complex.

Now knowing Edward was on Rex's side from the start, the realization became clearer.

Edward, like Rex, also pushes this to make the Fifthborn make a mistake.

"We saw what the minion did, and we knew that the minion was extremely intelligent—it was not like any other mutated animal at all. Closer to us Supernatural races than animals. So, we must treat it appropriately"

"Treating it appropriately like what?"

"It made an effort to take down Dewmist Village, and that effort was wasted when it realized there are strong entities like us there. If a person tried his hardest to achieve something, and found out that it was a waste, how would he feel?"

"He'd feel frustrated and angry"

"Now if the person is cruel in nature, what would he do in that state"

Upon hearing this, Flunra's eyes widened.

He now realized what Gistella was getting at and it made sense.

Since the minion was extremely intelligent, it would act more like a person than an animal.

If it was frustrated and angry, then it would definitely try to vent.

"I saw through the carriages that there were a couple of jungle cats—and they are not hostile to the Elves, possibly because of they are cautious. But along the way, I couldn't find a single jungle cat, so the minion must be hunting it to vent"

"So that's why we're searching for the jungle cats"

"Yes, it was extremely meticulous—leaving not even a scent of blood behind but it still left a faint trail of death energy. I could vaguely pinpoint its location through that, and it should be around this area"

"Good thinking, Gistella. The Alpha would've praised you if he knew about this"

Flunra complimented her.

It was not a common occurrence for Gistella to think outside the box like this.

She learned a lot from being a part of Rex's plan and it shows.

Just as they were talking, both of them saw the two mutated jungle cats' ears perked.

Both looked around, seemingly sensing a bad premonition.

As expected, the minion taking the form of a complete shadow landed from above.

It startled the two mutated jungle cats but the two quickly swelled in size.

Sensing the killing intent fro the minion, the two knew that a fight was utterly unavoidable.

Meanwhile, above the location of the minion, Flunra, and Gistella.

"It's chilling tonight, like really... chilling"

"Stop making me scared, I'm already scared as it is"

"I'm not! I'm just saying"

Your journey continues on empire

A pair of Elves, the stationed sentries around the area were hiding in a tall tree.

Both of them were standing on a tree branch, keeping an eye on the surroundings.

"Hey... Can we not regroup with the others?"

"No, of course not. Stop being scared, the Silverstar Pack is handling the situation"

"If it's not the Emperor, I doubt this situation would be handled"

"Stop spouting nonsense"

Rolling his eyes, the scared Elf scanned the area from above before his eyes caught sight of something below them. He squinted his eyes and soon realized that there were two figures, hiding in the bushes.

"Hmm... their attires, are they Lord Flunra and Lady Gistella? Why are they here?"

Just as he muttered that, his eyes turned at a shadow appearing not far from them.

His expression paled at the sight of this.

From the reports he heard—he knew the description of the minion and this shadow matched the description exactly. It was definitely the minion they all have been terrorized by. But then—his fear disappeared when Flunra and Gistella made their move.

"Hey, did you hear me? Don't you dare sleep!"

Fearing that the scared Elf was sleeping, the other Elf leaped to his branch and nudged him.

"We need to keep an eye for the minion, don't sleep" He added.

But the sacred Elf answered while still looking down below, "I think we could sleep now"

"What do you mean? Do you want more to die?"

"No... I think the situation is already handled"
