PS: Brothers, at the beginning of the month I’m asking for a baseline of monthly tickets. It’s double monthly ticket time, where one ticket counts as two, which is a great deal.

Next, he led his subordinates through the gorge to the other side of the mountain range.

As expected, the number of monsters on the other side was greater, probably because it was the frontline where the Ancient gods’ minions and the world’s Resistance Force had gathered a large number of flesh aberrations, most of which were controlled by Flesh Degenerates.

Lin Xiao guided his subordinates along the edge of the mountain range, continuously eradicating monsters entrenched in different places. If the enemy tried to move a large number of monsters towards them, they would hide in the mountains and conduct guerrilla warfare.

Four months later, Lin Xiao, whose level had reached 74 and 80 percent, led his subordinates to the vicinity of a city held by the Ancient gods’ minions.

In the distant past, this was a major city of the natives, but after being occupied by the Ancient gods’ minions, it became the monster’s stronghold, ruled by a Flesh Dominator known as Hall, harboring a multitude of the Ancient gods’ minions as well as some corrupted natives.

The corrupted could choose to accept the Ancient gods’ power to become Flesh Dominators or refuse it and retain their original forms.

Most of the powerful corrupted maintained their original forms. Numerous corrupted gathered together, forming a societal structure of their own, such as cities of the corrupted, where countless species corrupted by the Ancient gods’ minions lived together.

Lin Xiao’s purpose for coming here was simple: to try and see if he could destroy the city.

However, as he slowly approached the city and saw a thick tentacle high in the clouds swinging back and forth in the city center, he wisely chose to retreat.

Touch of Salaguron: A tentacle of the Ancient god Salaguron, an extension of its will.

If that thing wasn’t there, he would have attempted it.

Quickly leaving the vicinity, since there was a tentacle of an Ancient god here, it meant that there was the body of an Ancient god underground. He wasn’t discovered yet, so it was still fine, but it would be bad if he were found.

Two days later, he went around the city where the tentacle of the Ancient god was found and came to the other side by crossing a high slope. Beyond the slope, he saw an endless plain divided in half: one side of the ground was covered with bones, death, and Undead, aptly named the Bone Wasteland.

On the other side, there were lots of flesh aberrations and the corrupted, minions of the Ancient gods.

The Bone Wasteland was swarming with packs of Undead who, under the influence of an unknown power, were battling the minions of the Ancient gods on the other side.

These Undead were mostly around Level 65, a mix of common and elite, and they were no match for the flesh aberrations averaging over Level 70. However, the Undead were numerous and respawned quickly, fighting in great numbers to hold a slight advantage.

But this situation was changing as a continual stream of flesh aberrations poured into the battlefield, particularly when a fearsome existence, dubbed the Children of Nightmare with at least five hundred meters in height and covered in tentacles, was slowly advancing, an aura slowly creeping across the Bone Wasteland, purging the ground of death and contaminating it with the evil Power of Corruption of the Ancient gods.

This meant that the Ancient gods’ power was gradually corrupting the Bone Wasteland.

Arriving here, Lin Xiao almost conclusively determined that he had reached the edge of the region corrupted by the Ancient gods on this planet; if he was right, crossing to the other side of the Bone Wasteland would take him to an area of the planet yet to be corrupted.

Here, he saw the Undead as light red in color, indicating a neutral relationship between them—not hostile.

This meant that if he approached the Undead, they would not attack him proactively, but any hostile or provocative action would provoke an attack.

This hostile action is not limited to direct attacks; merely passing by would not provoke them. But if you were to run up and flip them off, they would retaliate.

It also meant that the relationship with these Undead could be improved, as long as the reputation system was activated and the reputation was raised, or…

The group slowly entered the Bone Wasteland, and the wandering Undead or those converging on the frontline paused as they sensed them, facing them warily.

Lin Xiao paid them no heed and just continued forward, coming upon the fighting between the Undead and the Ancient gods’ minions. After a brief spellcasting, he summoned a Lightning Chain that flew out, crackling and popping, with countless lightnings exploding amidst the flesh aberrations. In an instant, dozens of weakened flesh aberrations or corrupted monsters were killed, and the remainder were left with half health or on the brink of death.

The basic Lightning Chain, strengthened by the Hero template and further amplified several times, was already more powerful than the formidable spell, Chain Lightning.

Without need for explanations or any specific tasks, the best way to build a relationship with these wary Undead was to have a common enemy.

After he directly attacked the minions of the Ancient gods, not only did he not open the reputation with the Undead nor triggered any abnormalities, but he could immediately feel the hostility of the Undead waning a bit.

What followed goes without saying—continue to grind.

It wasn’t just him grinding; his subordinates also took action.

With so many Undead serving as natural meat shields, he could just safely cast spells from behind.

Lightning Chain, Thunderbolt, Thundercloud—after ascending to Hero, these spells received a qualitative boost, with endless lightning pouring down like a torrential downpour, taking out large groups of flesh aberrations or corrupted monsters, with experience soaring upwards.

Through constant slaughter, Lin Xiao was surprised to find that one day the color of the surrounding Undead changed from light red to the neutral yellow, and the system also prompted that the reputation with Du Longer and the Forgotten had been automatically activated.

The prestige of Du Longer equates to the prestige on Ornell Planet, the world prestige of this realm, starting neutral and making leveling up difficult.

The Forgotten is this world’s Undead, with those in the Bone Wasteland being just a part of them.

The nearly endless minions of Ancient gods provided him with a vast amount of experience which, even with the high experience requirements later on, was forcibly pushed forward, quickly approaching a level-up.

At a certain moment, a massive lightning bolt shot from afar and struck Lin Xiao, directly disrupting the Thundercloud he was preparing to summon.

Glancing at the corner of his eye, the system log displayed:

“Your spell has been countered by the Seer Ricks, and you received 8,500 points of lightning spell damage.”

“Seer Ricks?”

Lin Xiao paused for a second, then immediately looked up into the distance and in the midst of the swarming minions of Ancient gods, he saw a familiar figure.

“They’ve run off to the Ancient gods’ camp?”

“The Ancient gods can also open prestige?”

This Seer named Ricks, now a Child of Nightmare, seemed very different from before. It seemed as though he had undergone some sort of transformation, not only had his size exploded to fifty or sixty feet, but his appearance now leaned more towards that of a Child of the Ancient God, or rather a miniature version of one.

With the dramatic increase in size came a significant boost in strength, and key to note, he seemed to also possess the ability of Flesh Dominators that allowed control over a great number of Ancient gods’ minions. Previously, he was controlling a mass of Ancient gods’ minions gathered somewhere confronting a large group of Undead. Probably finding Lin Xiao too arrogant and annoying, he had now changed the battlefield to come this way.

By his side, Lin Xiao noticed many traces of Children of Nightmare.

They had all undergone some transformations and were now much stronger than before.

If before they were of a normal template, now they were of an Elite Template, and that Seer named Ricks, after being blessed with the power from the Ancient gods, was likely of a Hero Template, having transformed beyond Level 75, and was stronger than Lin Xiao. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to so effortlessly counter Lin Xiao’s Thunderstrike.

Ricks, high above and looking down, extended a tentacle and pointed, instantly controlling one of Lin Xiao’s leader Mages.

Behind him, the Saint of Light immediately performed a Holy Purification to break the mind control; Hero skills of Hero Templates had a very high priority and could remove mind control.

But this action immediately caught Ricks’ attention. Dozens of massive compound eyes on his head shot out several psychic lash beams at the Saint of Light, causing tens of thousands of damage to surge in an instant, ticking once per second. In just two seconds, three hundred thousand points of life were lost, enough to easily kill an average leader Boss.

This made Lin Xiao’s eyes twitch; even he wouldn’t be able to withstand that kind of burst damage for more than a few seconds. He quickly summoned the Wandering Swordsman Sven to shield him and then ordered a retreat.

Discretion is the better part of valor, and now with nearly enough experience to reach Level 75, it was time to pull back and hunker down. In a month, once he could sample from the Creation Rubik’s Cube, he could promote.

After all, with the vast expanse of the Bone Wasteland, there were plenty of places to grind.

His departure left Ricks unable to do anything, as he currently had a mission and couldn’t give chase. He could only offer threats from a distance.

This annoyed a few of Ricks’ companions greatly, one of them said to Ricks:

“We’ll spread out to other sections and keep an eye on him, taking our chance to kill him once we find it.”

Ricks nodded:

“Inform me immediately if you find the human.”

The group acknowledged and dispersed quickly.

Meanwhile, Lin Xiao, who heard the forceful threats of the Children of Nightmare with their strong psychic power from a distance, simply responded with a distant middle finger.

Next, he traveled several dozen kilometers to another part of the Bone Wasteland and continued slaughtering the minions of the Ancient gods as before.

In less than two days, he had accumulated enough experience to reach Level 75, but he chose not to advance and let the experience continue to accumulate.

Time passed day by day, and when a month had elapsed, Lin Xiao swiftly connected to the Creation Magic Cube and saw a third type of item within the Magic Cube besides the bloodline essence crystal of the Asura Naga and several Divine essence and Godforce crystals:

A Fragment of Godhood, originating from the same source as the Fragment used in the creation of The Ring of Miraculous Radiance from the Native God of Light, but somewhat larger.

If the Fragment used in The Ring of Miraculous Radiance accounted for only about one to two percent of a complete Divinity, this Fragment amounted to about seven or eight percent. It was exchanged for all the honors and benefits he had accumulated over such a long time.

Luckily his military rank was high enough, as ordinary officers did not have the privilege to exchange for Divinity, not even for Fragments.
