Chapter 136: Chapter 0132: Sincerity_2
Mr. Ning adjusts to a semi-reclining position, “Qiqi, I need to speak with Dr. Yang.”
Miss Ning leaves the ward considerately, “Dad, you chat with Dr. Yang, I’m going to make a phone call.”
After Miss Ning left, Mr. Ning attempts to sit up and invites Yang Ping to sit down. Yang Ping rushes to support him, “Don’t get up. I’ll sit down.”
Yang Ping sits down on the chair beside the bed. Mr. Ning smiles and says, “Sorry for taking your time. These past few days, I’ve been feeling as if my energy were dissipating. Could it be that my time is near?”
“You look much better today!” Yang Ping comforts him.
Mr. Ning shakes his head, “I’m afraid -”
He hesitates then says, “I know my own situation. Dr. Yang, I want to ask for your help. Are there any medical interventions that could let me hang on for a few more days? Just a few days would do. I won’t hide it from you, there’s still an unfulfilled wish which needs a few more days. It might be strange to you, asking for your help, but it’s my intuition. That day, when you performed the puncture, I heard your conversation and started to trust you more. It’s troublesome for you, but intubation and other life-saving measures are meaningless. I want to stay conscious for a few more days.”
“The most common cause of death from tumors is the failure of the invaded organs, leading to multiple organ failure. There are other causes too, such as massive bleeding, serious infections, pulmonary embolism, and so on. I’ve seen your test results these past few days. Your lungs can still hold on, but your liver function is already at the brink of collapsing. It would be better if you start using artificial liver ahead of time.” Yang Ping speaks frankly to Mr. Ning, a man who appreciates transparency.
“Thank you for your frankness!” Mr. Ning is very grateful.
“And thank you for your trust. If you have any needs, please contact me anytime.” Yang Ping shakes his hand.

The house Huang Jiahui rents is in a community near the hospital, located on either side of the hospital where Yang Ping lives.
She returns home, takes out a notebook from her bag, and adds a few notes to it. The notebook records many things, like the time it takes to get to the operating room of the orthopedics department in Sanbo Hospital, the time waiting for the elevator, the time in the elevator, and so forth.
After organizing her notes, she sits on the sofa, recalling every detail of her meeting with Yang Ping today, scrutinizing every word she said, checking for any indiscretions or anything that may have annoyed him.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
The product introduction was a bit stiff, like reciting a script; the offer to buy breakfast was ill-timed and unnatural; and his suggestion that she head home early – was that a sign of annoyance with her?
“Jiahui, you’re back. How did it go?” Huang Jiacai emerges from the kitchen where he had prepared dinner.
Jiahui pours her brother a cup of tea and shares with him the happenings of the day.
Huang Jiacai sits down on the sofa, takes a sip of tea, moistens his throat and says, “Hmm, not bad. But you didn’t leave him with a very good impression. He sat and listened to your explanation, but his patience was an act, completely out of consideration for your rookie sensitivities.”
“How do you know?” Jiahui feels a little disappointed. She had thought she had been successful.
Huang Jiacai smiles and says, “This is the result of over ten years of studying people.”
“Also, you forgot the most important point today!” Huang Jiacai reminds his sister.
Jiahui anxiously asks, “What was it?”
“You only mentioned the pros of the product, not the cons. You should candidly disclose the disadvantages and gaps of the product. That’s the only way to show sincerity, to think from the customer’s perspective. The biggest drawback of this product is its certain jamming rate. The probability is very low, but once a jam occurs, it becomes troublesome and difficult to deal with, prolonging the operation time.” Huang Jiacai counsels patiently.
“Jiahui, remember, in our line of work, when we don’t have sufficient other capital, there’s one thing that can truly touch people, and that is sincerity.” Huang Jiacai says solemnly.
He stumbled through this journey himself, enduring all sorts of hardships. Now it’s different for his sister. She has his experience and shouldn’t take the scenic route.
“What should I do? I’ll tell him about it tomorrow morning.” Jiahui is at a loss.
Huang Jiacai shakes his head, “Waiting till tomorrow won’t do. You need to tell him now. That way, he can think of countermeasures in advance.”
“I’ll go to the hospital now!” Jiahui stands up from the sofa.
Huang Jiacai stops her, “He’s already off work.”
“I’ll… I’ll call him now!” Jiahui is very agitated.
A young girl asking to meet him now, he would surely refuse to avoid any improprieties.” Huang Jiacai eliminates his sister’s idea.
“Should I call him then?” Jiahui suggested.
“No, it must be explained in person with the sample.”
“I’ll make the appointment then!”
Huang Jiacai hesitates for a moment and says.
——
Yang Ping is confused. He had just met Huang Jiahui two hours ago and now Huang Jiacai is asking to meet him at a cafe for an important matter, but he doesn’t mind as the siblings are not unpleasant people.
He was just escorting Su Yixuan to her dormitory but hasn’t reached it yet. He ends the call and says to Xiao Su, “Could you come with me to a nearby Starbucks to meet someone?”
“Sure, why do you need me to accompany you?” Xiao Su always has such a charming smile.
“Because the other person has a sister who is the sales manager of a meniscus suture device. Remember the one who took your exam notes today?” Yang Ping explains.
“I’ll go with you. For such matters in the future, even if someone asks you out alone, you’ll be fine going alone. You don’t have to worry. I’ll always trust you.” Xiao Su straightens Yang Ping’s collar and holds his hand.
In the coffee shop, Huang Jiahui anxiously watches the entrance. Huang Jiacai consoles her, “It was the same when I started. The first time I met a client, I arrived an hour early and kept rehearsing how I would introduce myself. When the time came, the client called and asked why they hadn’t seen me. Do you know why?”
“Why?” Jiahui asks.
“Because I was so nervous, I got the meeting place wrong.” Huang Jiacai says leisurely.
Jokingly, he was able to make Jiahui relax a bit.
When Yang Ping and Xiao Su finally arrive, Jiahui breathes a sigh of relief.
As Yang Ping and Xiao Su sit down, Huang Jiacai gets up to usher in the hot coffee, “Dr. Yang, Nurse Su, sorry to disturb you. We’ll only take up a few minutes of your time.”
Jiahui anxiously pulls out the suture gun, “Dr. Yang, I apologize. I forgot to mention its drawbacks during the product introduction today. Due to manufacturing and quality control reasons, it has a certain jamming rate. You see, to suture a stitch requires two punctures; if the first stitch doesn’t retract in time upon completion, the second will enter the track. This would create a jam with the first stitch obstructing the second.”
After speaking, Jiahui feels relieved, her breath much smoother.
“I told Dr. Yang it must’ve been researched and expected, but Jiahui insisted that I invite you here to explain clearly.” Huang Jiacai looks embarrassed.
“Just for this?” Yang Ping had thought it was something urgent.
“Just this!” Jiahui nods.
