Chapter 370: Chapter 370 Coral Turtle
The three of them continued to converse as they flew, when suddenly they noticed a small red island emerging from the ocean ahead.
Upon closer inspection, it wasn't an island at all, but a colossal turtle-shaped creature.
The turtle's shell was as big as a basketball court, covered with red coral-like mutated plants, resembling a coral island that had surfaced for some reason after originally being at the sea bottom.
"What level of creature is that?" Lin Shen sized up the giant turtle, noticing it was motionless as if it were dead.
Lin Shen did not know whether Base Variant Creatures could die naturally; at least with a human's lifespan, it was highly unlikely to witness the death of such creatures.
Most Base Variant Creatures can survive for a very long time without eating or drinking as long as they don't fight or move; a regular human could spend their entire life without ever seeing one starve to death.
Of course, if they're in combat and deplete their energy, replenishing it is definitely necessary.
This giant turtle's body was overgrown with coral-like mutated plants, making it look like a coral island. One could only wonder how long it must have been stationary to have reached this state.
Ouyang Yudu examined the giant turtle, speaking with a hint of astonishment, "I've seen a similar creature mentioned in the family records."
"Due to the inherent environment on the Firce Fire Star, it's almost impossible for Nirvana Creatures to exist. The strength released during Nirvana would cause a Sea of Flames explosion, and the explosion's force would be enough to kill the creature undergoing Nirvana. So, the strongest native creatures on the Firce Fire Star are those at the Tenth Turn of Ascension.
If they wish to reach Nirvana, they must break away from Firce Fire Star and attempt it in the starry sky. Most never return, and it's unknown if they settle on other planets or die failing Nirvana in space."
"The records I read mentioned various Ascended Creatures that our ancestors came across on Firce Fire Star, among which the Crimson Flame Starburst Dragon was the most notorious. It had already reached the Tenth Turn and survived many years in the Sea of Flames without leaving Firce Fire Star. Many who came to the Sea of Flames had seen it."
"Besides the Crimson Flame Starburst Dragon, there were several other famous Ascended Creatures, including a giant turtle. Since no one knew its real name, those who saw it named it Coral Turtle, similar to this one here. The Coral Turtle had extremely strong defenses, even the Crimson Flame Starburst Dragon couldn't kill it, and some have witnessed it fighting the dragon."
"So, you're saying this Coral Turtle is a Tenth Turn Mutated Ascended Creature?" Lin Shen said, assessing the turtle below.
He wasn't in a rush to find the Crimson Flame Starburst Dragon. As long as they delayed the time, there was still a long period before his elder brother's method would take effect.
If they were to find the Crimson Flame Starburst Dragon now, the combat might attract Flarela. It was better not to seek out the dragon just yet.
Ouyang Yudu spoke with a strange look, "The problem is, according to the records, the Coral Turtle entered the starry sky over a hundred years ago, not long after the Ouyang Family had arrived on the Firce Fire Star. Many people witnessed the magnificent scene of the Coral Turtle ascending into space..."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Lin Shen's eyes lit up upon hearing this, "Is it possible that after entering space, the Coral Turtle failed its Nirvana and chose to return to its home to die?"
"Nirvana isn't child's play. The process itself is incredibly dangerous. If something went wrong, it wouldn't be able to return here to die," Ouyang Yudu shook his head.
"In that case, this isn't the same one that entered space, but rather another one," Lin Shen suggested.
"I have compared some details, and it should be the same one documented in the records. If it were another one, some of its unique features would not match up so coincidentally," Ouyang Yudu negated Lin Shen's suggestion once more.
"I don't want to know anything else; I just want to know whether this Coral Turtle is alive or dead," Lin Shen said, gazing at the Coral Turtle.
"I don't know," Ouyang Yudu shook his head; this question was beyond his knowledge. However, he continued, "We are here for the Crimson Flame Starburst Dragon. Let's not complicate things further."
"Over there," Wei Wufu, who had been examining the Coral Turtle, suddenly pointed to a spot on its back.

Lin Shen and Ouyang Yudu followed his finger and saw something faintly glowing amidst the coral.
Under the morning light, the Coral Turtle's body was already reflecting light, so without careful observation, the different glow would not be noticeable.
"It looks like the hilt of a weapon," Ouyang Yudu said after a careful examination, speaking thoughtfully.
"It seems so," Lin Shen noted as he saw the object about half a foot long, emitting a purplish-red glow, crystalline and jade-like, resembling the hilt of a knife or sword with visible parts of the guard.
However, exactly what weapon it was couldn't be discerned, as the blade had completely sunk into the turtle's shell.
"Is it possible that this Coral Turtle has already been killed?" Lin Shen pondered aloud.
"Good point, let's go down and take a look," Ouyang Yudu said with a slight smile.
Instead of wasting time here, the three of them decided it was better to take a look for themselves.
"Agreed," Wei Wufu nodded.
"Who's going down?" Lin Shen asked, looking at the two.
"I will," both Ouyang Yudu and Wei Wufu said almost simultaneously.
"Forget it, I'll go down myself to check," Lin Shen said after a moment of hesitation.
If it had been Tian Xin, who was trying every possible way to avoid going down, Lin Shen would have insisted on sending him down.
But with people like Ouyang Yudu and Wei Wufu, he really couldn't bring himself to just stand by and watch them go down.
"Let's go together," Ouyang Yudu said as he started descending toward the back of the Coral Turtle.
Wei Wufu and Lin Shen followed, descending slowly to avoid touching the coral-like objects and causing an explosion.
They were also wary of the possibility that the Coral Turtle was still alive and might launch a surprise attack.
Fortunately, none of their concerns materialized, and the Coral Turtle remained motionless, even as they approached the object, unclear if it was asleep or truly dead.
"It looks like a Spirit Base," said the three hovering in the air, not daring to land on it, mainly to prevent an explosion.
The Sea of Flames was too prone to explosions; just a slight contact between their carapace and an object could trigger one.
"Since we're here, let's pull it out to have a look," Lin Shen suggested.
"I'll keep my distance first," Ouyang Yudu said as he soared into the sky.
"You pull," Wei Wufu said, also taking to the sky.
Lin Shen hesitated, then followed them up, moving away from the Coral Turtle. Without firing his weapon, he carefully called out the last surviving Black Armored Centipede and sent it toward the hilt.
The Black Armored Centipede coiled lightly around the hilt, and even though it was extremely gentle, when its body touched the hilt, it still caused firecracker-like crackling sounds with faint sparks flickering between its body and the hilt.
Thankfully, explosions of such a minor scale hardly had any effect.
Under Lin Shen's control, the Black Armored Centipede flapped its wings vigorously and slowly pulled the weapon out.
As the weapon was extracted, sparks sprayed at the point where it contacted the shell, and the crackling sounds were incessant, akin to thunder and lightning.
