Skill Forge: Broken Extra Character

Chapter 178 Almost Done Here

Rey and the others arrived at the scene, only to find the massive Earth Dragon sprawled motionless on the ground. Its colossal form trembled occasionally, but it was clear the beast had already been incapacitated.

Marcella groaned in frustration. "Seriously? What's the point of keeping it alive like this? Don't you need the experience too, Jett?" she teased, throwing her hands up. "We rushed all the way here because we thought something might happen to you!"

"I feel so dumb for worrying about you," Elora added, shaking her head in mock disappointment. "Ugh, classic Jett."

Cedric scratched his head, pointing toward the immobilized dragon. "So, uh… I'm pretty sure we still need to land the final blow, right? Otherwise, no loot or exp for us."

The group turned their attention to the massive creature lying helpless before them. Its breaths were labored, and its faint growls lacked the ferocity it had displayed earlier. Discover exclusive content at empire

Jett smirked from afar listening to them complain, lazily spinning the spear. "You're welcome for the easy cleanup," he said smugly, stepping aside. "Go ahead, just land the final blow, I'll take care of the boss."

After a quick exchange of glances, everyone readied their strongest attacks.

{Hell Fire}

{Ice Bomb}

{Blood Bomb}

{Eruption}

{Wind Slice}

The combined attacks tore through the Earth Dragon's body, piercing through its hardened scales and crushing the remaining life out of the beast. With a final, thunderous roar, the dragon collapsed completely, its body turning still.

"Now that's teamwork, even if I'm not proud of it." Cedric said with a grin, giving a thumbs-up as the dragon's massive form disintegrated into shimmering particles.

*****

"Impossible!!!"

The Herculean soldier's roar of disbelief echoed across the battlefield as he witnessed the Earth Dragon's defeat. His shock left him momentarily distracted, a fatal mistake in the middle of his fight with Matthew and Seraphina.

[Boost]

[Shield Bash]

Matthew seized the opportunity, surging forward with a burst of energy. His shield collided with the soldier's massive frame, throwing him off balance.

"Don't turn your back on your enemy, right? Take your own advice, muscle head!" Matthew roared as he pressed the attack.

The Herculean soldier staggered, attempting to regain his footing.

[Axe Combo!]

[Weak Spot!]

Matthew's keen eye locked onto a vulnerable joint in the soldier's armor. Imbuing his axe with Aura, he unleashed a relentless barrage of strikes at the weak point. Sparks flew as the armor buckled under the pressure, finally shattering with a deafening crack.

"Your turn, Seraphina!" Matthew shouted, stepping aside.

Seraphina moved with dazzling speed, her figure a blur as she closed the distance. Her sharp fingers coated with Aura as she aimed for the opening Matthew had created.

[Savage Cleave]

Her fingers struck true, piercing through the soldier's exposed flesh and leaving his blood oozing out like a flood. The Herculean soldier let out a strangled cry as his massive frame fell to the ground with a resounding thud, unmoving.

"Another one down," Seraphina said coolly, sheathing her blade as she glanced at Matthew.

"Nice work," Matthew said, a grin spreading across his face. "Teamwork makes the dream work, huh?"

Matthew and Seraphina both dropped to the ground, breathing heavily as the adrenaline faded and exhaustion set in.

"I could stay here for days," Matthew groaned, sprawled on his back, his shield resting beside him.

"Huff… huff…" Seraphina gasped for air, lying flat with her arms outstretched. "You can say that again," she muttered, barely able to lift her head.

They both stared up at the sky, too tired to do anything but revel in the brief moment of peace.

"You guys need to leave. Now," Jett said sternly, his gaze fixed on Rey and the others. His tone carried a weight of urgency that left no room for argument. "Get back to the castle. In a few minutes, nowhere on this battlefield will be safe."

"But…" Freya began, stepping forward, but Jett cut her off before she could finish.

"If you really want to help me, then you'll stay far away," he said, his sharp tone silencing any further protests.

"Are you serious, man?" Rey said, visibly frustrated, his hands clenched into fists.

"That's fine by me, though," Marcella shrugged nonchalantly, brushing dust off her robes.

Jett's expression softened slightly as he looked at them. "Just remember the cave. Get out of here."

Rey's eyes narrowed for a moment before realization struck. "Ah… I see," he said with a nod. "Now that you put it like that, it wouldn't be good if we stayed." He climbed onto Asmodeus's back, his posture tense. "We need to leave."

The others exchanged confused glances, reluctant to leave Jett behind, but Rey's firm tone snapped them out of their hesitation.

"What's going on?" Cedric asked as he mounted Asmodeus alongside the others.

"I'll explain on the way," Rey replied as Asmodeus spread his wings, taking to the skies.

With one last glance back at Jett, the group reluctantly departed.

The battlefield fell silent, leaving Jett and the king standing amidst the chaos.

"Now it's just you and me," Jett said, gripping his spear tightly as he locked eyes with the king.

"Surrender to me!" the king bellowed, activating a skill.

[Royal Charm]

Jett remained unfazed, his expression unreadable as though he had been expecting the attempt. A notification appeared before him, confirming his immunity.

The king's confident smirk faltered, his expression twisting into frustration.

"Sadly for you," Jett said, tilting his head slightly, "charm and poison skills won't work on me. You should've done your homework."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

The king's face darkened with anger as he finally unsheathed his blade, its edge glinting with an eerie aura.

"I was hoping to end this peacefully," the king said, leveling the sword toward Jett. "But you leave me no choice."

Jett scoffed, spinning his spear in one hand. "Bullshit," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. "You've been trying to weaken me this whole time so you could take the final blow. I'm not dumb."

The king's lips curled into a wicked grin. "You're being overly confident just because of that spear you're holding," he sneered. "Your weapon isn't the only one that's special, you know. Mine can double all my stats even if its halves one of my choosing."

Jett raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Good for you, Let's see how far that gets you." he said, smirking, 'He's probably pulling my legs. I still remember his stats'
