Chapter 111: Chapter 111 Continuing the Unfinished Surgery

呼!

Abigail Green took a deep breath as she watched Brandon Piers close his eyes. She hung the blood bag in place, ready for use, and then picked up the scalpel.

Though it had only been a little over two months since her last surgery, her new life in Abigail Green’s body had changed many things.

What remained unchanged was the skill etched into her bones.

In her previous life, she had studied traditional Flowery medicine from a young age, and later transitioned to Western medicine, relentlessly pushing forward. She evolved from an obscure traditional Flowery medicine family girl into a celebrated surgical prodigy, her journey becoming legendary.

However, no one knew that what others perceived as genius was merely the product of more diligent practice and hard work.

Abigail focused intently on Brandon Piers’s chest, her plump hands stretching the gloves taut, mirroring her tense heart at this moment.

Compared to her initial assessment, Brandon Piers’s current condition was evidently worse.

After observing carefully for two minutes, Abigail’s scalpel slowly cut through Brandon Piers’s aortic valve, revealing the man’s bright red heart to her.

Without hesitation, Abigail proceeded with the next step.

Brandon Piers’s heart problem was not severe. The troublesome issue was the location. The preliminary work was not difficult for Abigail, but performing the surgery alone required attention to many things. By the time she completed this stage, an hour had already passed.

Abigail took a deep breath, set aside the excised part with scissors, and began preparing for suturing. But halfway through, she frowned.

After her reincarnation, Abigail felt her vision and sensitivity had significantly sharpened. As the surgery neared its end and she prepared to suture, an odd feeling arose in her heart. It was not over.

The part she had just cut was not really the thing threatening Brandon Piers’s life. Realizing this, Abigail suddenly closed her eyes, then snapped them open again, the strong feeling becoming even more vivid.

Sensing something was wrong but unable to see it, Abigail gently grasped the man’s heart with her hand, feeling its rhythmic beat, and involuntarily tightened her grip.

Finally, she found the anomaly.

Her other hand went rigid. After several confirmations, Abigail finally affirmed that something remained inside Brandon Piers’s heart. Relying on her judgment, she carefully cut the precise spot.

Then, she extracted a tiny chip, no more than three millimeters, but it was the chief culprit accelerating Brandon Piers’s heart failure.

Abigail stared at the small object, her gaze complex as she looked at the unconscious man, then resumed suturing.

After a bout of blind stitching, a layer of thin sweat formed on Abigail’s forehead. She could not wipe it off, gritting her teeth as she knelt to continue.

After another half hour, Abigail raised her head. She held dozens of threads, her hands moving rapidly. At first, her movements were clear, but as the surgery progressed, her hands moved faster, finally leaving only blurred images of swift motions.

Though Brandon Piers on the ground remained with his eyes closed, he could feel the chubby little figure beside him focusing completely on the surgery. It was both warming and somewhat bitter.

He did not expect that, despite his meticulous planning and executing so many deceptive maneuvers, even setting the surgery for three days before his engagement and shielding it with the whole medical competition, everything would still be futile. When the saw cut open his sternum, everyone in the operating room had been subdued.

He stayed conscious but physically helpless, only able to watch as those people took Dr. Foster and others away, leaving him to fend for himself.

Since he was seventeen, he had never felt so humiliated.

Yet, just one miscalculation led him to a dead end.
