The man Long Chen had slapped jolted awake from his meditative state, his face twisted in fury.

The slap itself wasn’t particularly powerful. After all, Long Chen hadn’t aimed to kill this man. It was just a calculated move to swap positions with him without ruining the altar’s formation.

Her unwavering determination stirred the Southern Alliance. Though they longed to rush to her aid, they understood their mission. Seeing their determination to stop him, Sha Tiantong seethed with fury. His sawtooth saber sliced through the air once more, shrouded in the faint aura of ninth heaven vein dragon qi. Though still an eight-vein Heaven Saint, he was already on the verge of breaking through, his power overwhelming.

Despair rippled through the Southern Alliance experts as they watched the deadly saber arc toward Su Yu. None of them had the strength to intervene in time.

Just as all seemed lost, a dazzling light burst forth. Su Yu’s spear, which had been knocked aside, suddenly shot back into the fray, enveloped in radiant starlight. It intercepted Sha Tiantong’s saber with unrelenting force.

Sha Tiantong grunted in pain as he was blasted backward, his attack thwarted.
