Chapter 388 Part of a Set
After hearing my question, she seemed uncertain for a moment. However, in the end, she caved in after I gave her a serious look.
"In the future," she opened her soft lips, "I saw you becoming the god of this world. At first, I thought it was our son, but now I'm sure it's you," she said, her words sounding thoughtful.
"How can you be sure?" I asked, still not ready to accept the idea that I could be her husband, let alone have a son.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
I disliked kids, to the point that I ensured all my partners used contraceptives to prevent any chance of accidental pregnancy.
And even if what she said was true, the old me and the current me are just not the same. I don't see any reason to connect with that past version of myself.
In fact, I'm a different person now, even compared to who I was before I got the system. Imagine how much more distant I am from her husband who existed years ago.
"Because he lacks the power to be one, Zely called him the next Clan Leader. But I'm sure he would never reach the same level as you," she replied.
I pondered what she said, and it made sense.
No one, not even that Zely woman, could take over the world with the powers they displayed on Jeju Island.
I'm pretty sure there were way more hidden powerful being in the world today than the Zol Clan could even count.
And let us not forget that they were almost hunted down to extinction before, which means that even at their peak, humans were still able to neutralize them.
Our conversation continued, and she attempted to help me understand everything. She told me about the fragmented memories she saw about the future, but it was too vague.
For some reason, some of her visions weren't that detailed, while others were so vivid it felt like she was recalling a movie or something.
This alone raised suspicions because I couldn't quite figure out if she was hiding something from me.
She also stopped having those dreams after she was captured, so I didn't gather much information, aside from the notion that I would conquer this world. Even that wasn't a sure thing.
Lastly. she began talking about our past, trying to help me remember the moments we shared. Each story was like a puzzle piece, aiming to piece together our shared memories.
However, no matter what she said, I couldn't shake the feeling that the husband she described was very different from me.
Kind-hearted? Gentle? Respectful? A gentleman?
Those traits seemed too distant from me, making it seem like she was describing an entirely different person.
"I'm sorry but it's better for you to forget that man ," I finally had enough of her nonsense.
"Honey..." She reached for my hands, but I pulled them away.
Now that she claimed not to be my mother at all, all my previous feelings for her vanished. If she wanted to be seen as a woman, I would treat her just like one.
Unfortunately for her, I had many women at my disposal, and she might be the most beautiful, but I'm not degenerate enough to be involved with someone I used to consider my mother.
What happened before was just lapses in my judgment and would never happen again.
She looked hurt as I ignored and rejected her. Tears welled up in her eyes again, but I simply ignored her.
"A bit of advice, leave the Zol Clan with your son," I warned her, putting emphasis on the words "Your son" to make it clear that I didn't really care much about her claims.
"Why? What are you planning to do?" she asked, her expression filled with concern.
"I don't have to plan anything. They wanted to go to war against humans? I'm sure they will fail," I told her the honest truth.
"Then, please help us escape!" She pleaded
"Why would I help you? First of all, I don't care about what happened to him, and neither do I care about you." I stood up, planning to leave her.
"Please, don't abandon us. I didn't want to go to war either, but Zely has a way to find us. If we escape, we'd be killed. And I also need to convince Zyden. He's too in love with her to even listen to me," she pleaded, holding onto my arms with a desperate tone.
'That motherfucking SIMP,' I shook my head in disappointment. I couldn't believe that he let a woman sway him like that
My mind raced, torn between the desire to assist her and the reluctance to face off against that Zely woman.
That's when an important idea popped into my mind.
"Okay, I'll help you, but you gotta help me too," I proposed a deal.
"Don't worry, honey. I've always been on your side. I'll help you no matter what," she smiled back at me, her face filled with relief as I settled back onto the sofa.
"The girls that you prepared for me. It's true that I could copy their abilities. But why did you even prepare them in the first place?" I asked, realizing I had almost forgotten about this topic.
"They showed up in my visions. They were more detailed than the others, so I was able to find them pretty easily. I have some guesses," she responded.
"Tell me,"
She paused for a moment trying to fixed his bearing first before speaking.
"I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence, but their powers seems to be part of a set. Rei Mei can vibrate by changing her own wavelength . Eun Ha can control space, Min Hee's has light manipulation, Sung Hei can bend reality using her voice, and Miyo can temporarily freeze time around her."
"Controlling reality and time?" I interrupted.
"Yes, they might not be impressive separately, but if you combine all these abilities, the possibilities are endless. For example, I did an experiment with them. Did you know that Rei Mei can survive inside a black hole and move through Miyo's time stop if she changes her wavelength?" she added.
'Wait... Space, Light, Wavelength, Time, and Reality? Don't tell me...'
