Chapter 673: First few mates

Chapter 673: First few mates

The three looked at Hiro from afar. While Hiro continued with his training, the three left him alone and let him do as he pleased.

Hiro kept firing powerful shots at certain intervals. Although powerful, most of them missed the target. The misses frustrated Hiro and he couldn't help but fire even more shots.

"He's got the power. But his accuracy is rather terrible," Luka commented.

"I guess, he really is a one tournament wonder," Federico couldn't help but scoff.

Sharing the same position with Hiro, Federico wasn't delighted with his signing. After all, he had to compete against yet another competitor for a role in the team.

And he already had enough competitor. Thus he didn't view Hiro's signing favorably.

Part of the reason why he didn't view Hiro's transfer favorably was because Hiro was a formidable foe. So, if he were to join the team, his role in the team would be in jeopardy. However, right now, upon seeing him struggling, Federico couldn't help but feel delighted. "Or he might be finding it difficult to adjust," Maximilian Schreiber who went with the name Max commented.

"Well, you might be right, Max. After all, he has only moved here recently and for him it's a big change. So, he might be finding it hard to adjust," Luka couldn't help but nod.

"This isn't even a match guys and look there isn't even anybody around us. So, why would he struggle? If he can't even perform at such a moment then would he even be able to perform in the matches?"

Upon hearing Federico's statement, the two couldn't help but contemplate. Whatever he said did make sense. If he couldn't perform while not under pressure then would he be able to perform in the matches?

Was it like what Federico said? Perhaps, he really was one tournament wonder.

The two couldn't help but doubt Hiro's abilities.

"Even so, look how close he had been coming? Like he had been missing by an inch almost every time he missed. So, don't you think he's got the potential?" Luka couldn't help but vouch for Hiro.

Though Hiro had been missing quite frequently, he hadn't been missing by a mile. Every time, he was getting closer to the goal. So, that alone led him to the conclusion that Hiro had the potential in him.

"Now that you mention about it... He's got an impressive shot power too," Maxi chimed along.

Federico, however, didn't look happy about it. He furrowed his brow as he glared at Hiro. Though he disliked Hiro, he couldn't openly show his hostility either.

Hence, he forcibly nodded as he agreed with the two of them.

"Hey, newbie," Max called out for Hiro after he paused.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

It had been quite a while since they got here. In the meantime, they had been observing him from the background. They didn't want to interrupt him while he was training. Hence, they awaited for him to stop before approaching him.

Now, that he had halted his actions, they approached him.

Hiro, having shot more than fifty shots was out of breath. He was covered in perspiration and steam was oozing out of his cooling body.

Panting, Hiro turned around.

"You've got quite an impressive shot there," Max complimented. "Don't you think so, Federico?"

Federico grunted, "Yeah, but you lack precision."

"Don't be so harsh on him, Federico. Give him some room to improve," Luka retorted and turned to look at Hiro. "Don't mind him, Hiro. He doesn't mean any harm."

Though Hiro had studied about them in advance, he couldn't find the right words to hold a conversation. However, experiencing their attitude, Hiro could tell that they were friendly fellows.

Since, Hiro didn't utter a single word, an awkward silence fell upon the pitch.

"Ahh right, we should introduce ourselves," Luka immediately revived the conversation. "I'm Luka Petrovic, the central defender. And these two here are Maximillian Schreiber, the reserve goalkeeper, and Federico Mancini, one of the midfielders in the team."

Hiro was glad that there was somebody among them who could hold the conversation. If it was left to him, he would have messed it up for real.

"Hello, seniors. I'm Takahashi Hiro. Please take care of me," Hiro accustomed to Japanese way, bowed his head as he greeted these three individual before him.

"Hahaha," Luka upon hearing Hiro's polite gesture burst into laughter. Though he had heard of this polite gesture of the Japanese, he hadn't experienced it before.

Hence, upon witnessing Hiro bowing before them and calling them their seniors, he couldn't refrain from laughing.

"Luka," Max nudged Luka, hinting at his impoliteness.

Then he turned to Hiro and apologized with a faint smile, "Sorry, Hiro. He's not accustomed to getting called seniors."

"Don't worry. I don't mind. After all, we share different cultures. So, it must be a little

unusual for him," Hiro responded politely.

He wasn't offended by Luka's childishness.

Until the arrival of other players, Hiro chatted with the three. Although, Federico seemed rather reluctant to speak. It was almost as if he didn't want to speak to him.

Hiro, however, didn't find his antics offensive.

He simply assumed that he wasn't the type to talk freely and stopped pondering about it. From his conversation with Luka and Max, he learned a lot of things.

It also helped him familiarize with the rest of the squad.

They also introduced him to the rest of the squad afterwards. This made it a lot easier for him to bond with the squad. If it weren't for these people, he would have had a hard time bonding

with others.

After Simeone arrived on the pitch, he further helped him familiarize with the rest of the

squad.

Though Hiro performed poorly in the training, the others didn't complain about it. However, he could see some dissatisfied faces in the midst and after the end of the training.

Even though, they didn't reveal their dissatisfaction openly, Hiro could tell that his first impression was rather disastrous.

He even overheard a few expressing their worries over his transfer.

Simeone, however, having witnessed his performance first-hand believed that he was a little under the weather.
