5 minutes had gone by and Lucas was just slicing the coyates with his right hand while Ella tried to heal his left from afar. Some of her heals hit him and some didn't. Her aim wasn't very good.

John just kept hitting the enemies with the bow and wind-materialized arrows that had changed into icicles. Lucas didn't let a single one get at the back where the two were located and let them give their valuable support.

"Lucas!" A feminine voice came from inside the shelter's defenses, the voice was filled with panic.

"I might as well go all out." Luas looked at his weapon which didn't shine even a little now. It was covered with the red blood of the animals that kept on attacking even after getting injured.

Lucas first thought that they were mindless but he started to feel that these coyates were trying to survive as much as they were.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

These animals also needed food that they could get in abundance by killing Lucas's group. But it was not possible, the coyates may have more numbers but Lucas and the others were skilled with weapons that they felt proficient with.

At this point, Lucas just left his hand untreated, it had become a bit better from before as much of the skin came back after Ella's few heals. The wound was still bleeding but it was bearable but not the bones that were hanging inside his skin cracked.

Lucas didn't mind as he had the assurance to get it healed like it was never there before from Ella. If he was back on his home planet, Lucas would have to get many screws placed in his bones in order to make them work, and that too would take half of the hand's mobility.

Lucas concentrated on his weapon while running and after thinking about putting his mana inside the sword. He felt something leave him and make a connection with the sword.

The sword was at first normal but then it started sparking startling Lucas in the process.

There wasn't much show but Lucas wanted to be done with these creatures quickly as he didn't have infinite mana.

When his sword got in contact with the first wolf that was growling at him as if telling him to sit back. What a peculiar thing to see, an animal was telling them to stay away when they were inside the homes of the ones it is growling at.

Lucas's sword got in contact with the creature and even before it got near, an electric current formed a line between the coyate and the sword.

He didn't get to see the use of the current as the coyate had already died with one hit but he didn't let it bother him.

This time, Lucas was not going to make the same mistakes. he looked at every single one of the Coyate that was coming toward him in the circle.

Lucas swung the sword horizontally and made a full circle in the process. It was not much of an attack and would have only worked in intimidating the enemy but Lucas's weapon had a different plan.

The sword that came close to every Coyate that was going to pounce at Lucas in a group got electrocuted with a single strand of current connecting to their skin from the sword.

They had a paralyzing effect, one even fell on the ground with its eyes still open as if its legs had no strength.

John and Lucas took the opportunity of the few seconds and started finishing them off and only stopped when they got the EXP for the kill.

For the most part, Lucas was feeling uneasiness, he could see these Coyates had fear in their eyes. But they still didn't stop as if they had no choice.

Lucas could see the determination in each of them so he didn't pull back his attacks giving them a clean death in one strike to honor this battle.

They may have attacked Lucas's house and also hurt his people in the process. But every creature was stuck in this place like them so it was either do or die.

The consequences of the talks, the actions were a hundred times more rewarding or fatal at the same time and these creatures had unfortunately been in the latter.

After a few more minutes, the land was covered with corpses and blood that had a strong smell.

All the Coyates outside the shelter were killed which made them travel inside where the trio was fighting with four more of them.

Sarah was at the back, she looked very dizzy as if her mana pool was all depleted.

"Sarah!" Elle screamed which made her look for a second. Ella continued speaking, "Take this and finish the fight."

Ella threw the mana staff in the air which was still vertical in order to help her catch it safely.

Sarah caught it clumsily and felt invigorated at the first second of the touch.

She did not waste time and made another fireball that materialized in her palm instantly.

She threw it right at the one that was nearing them.

Whimper

Right at the contact, the blast made them all hurt, Sarah did not wait for them to be ready when she threw another one and then another.

"Hey Hey! Stop! You are going to damage the defenses and shelter!" Lucas exclaimed in panic, he was not worrying about the others but his and the other's hard-earned labor.

It was good that the ropes were inside the shelter, the plank at the back, and the stone here and there.

"Oh... sorry."

Lucas went to the two Coyates that were still alive and sliced their heads in one clean move when they were whimpering with the fire burning them alive.

Lucas finally sighed in relief when all of them were killed, he went on his knees and looked at his hand which was in very bad shape. The blood of the creatures and him were all mixed up and making a burning sensation on the wound.

"Huff... You three have some explaining to do."
