"In the skills section, you see those percentages? That tells us how far we are to a skill level up. It is a new thing that got added just a few hours ago."

"My fireball is at 78%," Sarah said while her eyes dated all around her status screen.

"That just means that fireball will level up soon if you keep doing what made it progress this whole time."

"Now, everything is clear, we will talk about those chests and dungeons later as Uncle John and I don't know much about them. Does anyone have anything to say about it?"

Everyone shook their head, there was nothing they needed to add so Lucas went forward and nodded at John.

"The last thing left is the objective. We need to level our EVERY skill to 5 within these four months. The part where we have to defeat Boss monsters is new but I would encourage you all to take outside help and ask others not in our group about it.

Lucas stopped and looked at John who sighed and nodded, the last part had finally come that they were waiting and hating for at the same time.

"Lastly, the party part. We need 10 people for a party to complete one of the objectives. We have six people here but it's still not enough." Lucas stopped and continued with a deep breath, "But even in the six people, we are thinking of not including some."

Everyone went completely silent at the thought of someone not being included in the party even when they are inside the group.

"What does he mean, John?" Ella asked from the side but John only took her hand in his and told her to wait.

"After the fight with the rapacious plant, we found out that not many in the group help in kinds of stuff that are important. I assure you, I have a hard time saying this but these people need to prove that they are worthy. We can't keep nearly dying every time we fight something even when we have this big group."

Lucas stopped, he wanted to let the things he said settle down.

"And you are on board with this?" Ella asked again yet this time, she was looking at John.

"Yes, Dear, you don't understand. We would have all died there if not for Lucas and Sarah. We can't let that happen again and again."

"But Dad, can't we just fight and learn, why take this big decision? Let's just get in a party and move forward." Sean tried to say, he was sure that he was one of the people who are to not be at the party.

"Son, listen to this, in the last fight, you leveled up, right?"

"Yeah, it was the best feeling, Dad. I feel strong and have not used those free points till now as you said." Sean said with a laugh that didn't make it easy for John to continue but there was no choice.

"But... did you really do anything in the fight? I mean to say, did you help?"

Sean and Barney went silent, in their hearts, they knew they had done nothing to help.

"I mean, I was there, right?"

"Sigh... Sean, Barney, you took the experience points that you didn't deserve. Now, Lucas is okay with it but I am not. I did not raise you to be a freeloader."

John rebuked both of them while they bit their lips. Ella had a dark expression, she couldn't believe that John was taking this decision without her.

"Lucas, am I also out of the party? If that is, I am okay with it, I wasn't able to do anything too." Sarah said, her head down with disappointment.

"Sarah, it's not like you didn't help at all. Your fireball made the rapacious plant change its course for you. I was able to give a killing blow just because of that."

"So I am in the party?"

"Yeah, the part of you being scared is getting away with time, Sarah. And that's what we need the most. After listening to what happened to my sister's group. I am not going to take any chances."

"I got this from here, Lucas. Boys, you both are on your own till you show me that you can do something. This is not our place, but Lucas's. We need to help with everything to our best capabilities in order to earn our keep. Got it?"

"No, I didn't get it. What does all this mean now?" Sean asked with a frown.

"That you both will not go with us outside the shelter till you show me that you are ready. Oh, and try finding your own food for a day, and know how easy it has been for you two. That's all."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

John got up and went outside the shelter, Ella went out with him and so did Lucas.

"Ughh..! I always hate this side of Dad. Why couldn't things just go on like before?" Sean said and took a big bite of the glimmerroot in frustration.

"Barney, as angry as I am too. Not a single thing that Dad said was false. we really are doing nothing to help."

-

While the two brothers were having a conversation near the camp. Ella was angrily saying things to John.

"Couldn't you have consulted me with this big decision? I am their mother!"

"Ella, listen. You are too soft with those boys."

"What?"

Lucas felt like another discussion was going to start so he interjected in between.

"Aunt Ella! Sorry for talking out like this but we don't plan on leaving Sean and Barney behind. It's just a plan we made to make them realize that it's not like before now."

"... What do you mean?" Ella asked with a frown.

"Yeah, dear. We are only doing this to make them realize that they have been spoon-fed the whole time they have been here. Now they need to take some responsibilities."
