I created my own system

Chapter 257 Corruption

Now the temple is just a myth, a story from the past that some people treated like a legend. However, for Apollo, this place is no myth or just a story. It is one of the places inside the tower' RED list, a catalog that contains names of places that are labeled dangerous due to the secrets they hold. The empire usually put strict supervision to them though Apollo can definitely bypass it.

"Well even if this place didn't turn into a dungeon the magical equipment there could still be powerful artifacts"

There are some instances when notable places turn into dungeons, sometimes even becoming natural labyrinths. Even with the corroded mana inside, it is still a type of energy that nature could change or just follow the flow.

[Creator, aren't you worried that the mana inside had corroded everything?]

"Not really, since the mages who died there left a very powerful cleansing spell that last for even another thousand years,I am certain that the mana there is safe; our only problem is the demonic beast that is the source of the corrosion. The tower wasn't sure what happened to that thing so they couldn't enter the temple for fear of releasing the source of corrosion"

[However Creator is different since he can use the authority of space to teleport inside]

"Yeah that is the goal, now them shall we start?"

[We should let me first make a proper draft of the temple since the layout we have was taken thousands of years ago]

"Sure go ahead I'll just stand here until you are done" Read exclusive chapters at empire

The harsh beat of the sandstorm continued to rage, though Apollo wasn't the least bothered; Instead, his body was glowing due to the barrier protecting him from the sand.

Back to the Apollo in the north, whose expression wasn't particularly good due to the notification he just received.

"This doesn't look good," he mutters while his gaze is pinned on the crimson red screen in front of him, with the words [WARNING! DEMONIC CORRUPTION HAS BEEN DETECTED]

Apollo's eyes immediately show panic, which Victor notices.

"Is there something wrong Sun?"

He asked though Apollo didn't hear him. Instead, his eyes stared at the map, which turned red, indicating the fast spread of corruption.

"Sun?" Victor called him again, but this time, he approached the boy intending to check his condition; however, before he could even do so, the ground began to shake. Then, from the sky, a dark looming cloud made from corrupted mana came. This mana bears pressure and a suffocating feeling that can make anyone breathless.

"Run," someone said, waking everyone from their initial shock.

"Hurry!" The voice added, which prompted everyone to run. Those warnings actually came from Apollo who already used the authority of space to contain the corrupted mana in one place.

"We should go," the boy added to Lothar while a part of him turned into smoke and dashed towards the source of the corruption. Apollo split himself into two; this move is a bit different from the spell Clonis, which is a hive mind, the one Apollo just did made the clone take half the power of the original. He did this to prompt the current situation.

"Jeremiah, tell me, have you track the source?"

[I did Creator, though there are way too many for us to handle]

"Alright, then, I suppose I need more bodies." Apollo then multiplied, resulting in a decrease in power for each body; however, he never saw it as a weakness. After all he could use the Five God's authorities, it's a power no one could defy, equipped with the system, he was pretty confident he could survive.

The people that currently go inside the shelf evacuated the area; Apollo was already in his demon form, fly across the ice shelf.

"I don't have to worry about bumping into any powerful beast, right?"

[Rest assured Creator most of the powerful magical beasts here already left, and the ones that stayed to protect their territory are too busy fortifying their defense to worry about us]

"Good cause my appearance will surely earn their ire"

Apollo continued gliding through the air until he arrived at one of the sources of the corruption, a magical beast that Apollo recognized as the same rank as him, a rank that much higher than a mere Celestial.

"Damn, if all the sources are the same as this, then it's no wonder the speed of the spreading was fast. It only took a few seconds for the corruption to eat almost half of the shelf, if this continues the entire north is endangered"

Knowing the indication of the current situation Apollo hurriedly controlled the space and took control of the corrupted mana.

"Now time to deal with this mana"

The demofied Apollo bask himself into the dreadful energy; he felt powerful, and that sensation was very addicting to feel; however, before he got carried away by that feeling, he soon proceeded to what he was about to do.

"Ha..." He started to breathe deeply as he began to suck the air along the mana that dwells in it. A strong suction pulls the surrounding mana while the other Apollo rushes to stop the corruption from spreading more.

[Only one body absorbing the mana won't be enough. You won't be able to expel everything]

"I got it, that thing can be mended easily"

From the space above, fissures appeared, transforming into multiple human figures. Those figures were the Apollos that were disguised across the continent; Jeremiah was right. A single Apollo with not even half of the real strength won't be able to remove the corrupted mana.

"Let's make this even more convenient"

Apollo said as he manipulated the space to compress the corrupted mana in one place. He then absorbs them immediately, turning the tainted energy into his own.

The problem with mana was steadily being dealt with; the only thing that had to be taken care of was the demons, which were the source of the corruption.

[Warning Creator this demonic beast is way too different than the ones you have encountered before] Jeremiah warned as he approach a certain beast from afar.

"Alright I will keep that in mind"

Apollo, whose body was completely demonized, immediately activated his barrier to keep himself safe.

However, as he went closer towards his opponent, he noticed how his defense slowly melted away.

"That doesn't look good," he thought so as he remembered a certain thing when he was still learning spells from the tower.

"In every demon subjugation, you will never see a mage at the front line." At first, Apollo thought mages were just being underestimated, but now he finally understood why.

And before he even knew it, he died and felt the pain a hundred times. It happened way too fast that he only noticed he was dead when the pain kicked in and was felt by all Apollos.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
