Chapter 757: Where Is My Wife?
Chapter 757: Chapter 757: Where Is My Wife?
“Officer Ziegler, did you get that?”
Secretary-general Saunders’ voice heightened somewhat, bringing Grace Ziegler back from her scattered thoughts.
Upon momentary reflection, Grace nodded awkwardly.
Indeed, she wasn’t a secretary of the CEO’s office, just an officer.
The officer rank probably sounds nice, but in reality, she was nothing, not even considered worthy of doing odd jobs.
Housing her in the CEO’s office might have just been a way to keep a better eye on her.
She couldn’t care less, staying in the CEO’s office brought her closer to Daniel Marshall — maybe there was still hope.
Remaining in the CEO’s office, she’d have more opportunities.
There’s also a possibility that Daniel was trying to protect her.
Regardless, she was in the CEO’s office, under Daniel’s watch — a place many people would never reach in their lifetime, and a wish many people aspired.
Most plans need not be urgently implemented, they could adapt to changing circumstances, and could be formulated slowly over time.
This was an opportunity that Grace Ziegler would undoubtedly not miss. She needed to seize it.
Secretary-general Saunders looked at Grace sternly, instructing harshly, “You are not allowed to touch Chief Marshall’s coffee. Every day, you are responsible for noting what office supplies are missing, and ensuring they are replenished before work starts. These are the rules of conduct in the CEO’s office, write them down twenty times, and hand them to me when you’re done.”
“Yes, Secretary-general Saunders!”
Without saying anything more, Secretary-general Saunders walked away.
Grace glanced at the secretary’s office, where all the busy men were engrossed in their work.
Actually, among everyone in the CEO’s office, she was the only one idle — it was as if she was the most useless one.
From Grace’s position, she couldn’t see the CEO’s office, instead, she was facing the assistant’s office.
If Assistant Howard looked out from his office, he could see her perfectly.
Grace glanced around before seating herself to start copying out the CEO’s office rules of conduct.
At this time, she had to present her best side, leave a good impression on others, defuse their vigilance against her before she could carry out the next step of her plan.
…
Regardless of whether Olivia Jenkins looked or not, Daniel Marshall insisted on sending her the wedding dress design drafts.
Even though Olivia never answered his calls, Daniel would still call her every once in a while.
No matter what, he wanted Olivia to know that he was constantly thinking about her.
In the office of the Director of Operations at Quiet Video, suddenly, a secretary announced, “Miss Winter, Daniel Marshall from the Marshall Corporation is here. He didn’t make an appointment, but he wants to see you, should we let him in?”
Miss Winter hesitated for a few seconds before saying, “Let him in.” n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Daniel walked in and took the seat across from Miss Winter.
Miss Winter’s keen eyes stayed fixed on Daniel and she went straight to the point, “You’re here to ask me where Olivia went, aren’t you? I’m sorry, I can’t tell you. She told me not to betray her.”
Daniel shrugged, speaking seriously, “With everything that has happened recently, Miss Winter, you must have heard about it. I really need to see her for something very important. Please, tell me where she is.”
The expression on Miss Winter’s face remained unchanged, she shook her head, “She’s filming the second season of the charity variety show. If you truly care about Olivia and want to know where she is, it’s not hard at all. Just keep an eye on updates about her show, and you’ll know everything.”
Daniel nodded slightly, “Thank you, Miss Winter.”
“Chief Marshall, here’s a piece of advice for you. If you haven’t thought it over yet, if you’re still undecided, if you’re not determined to live a good life together, don’t bother Olivia. She’s been hurt enough already. Otherwise, you will only push her further away.”
What do you think?
