Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 396 Against Claude ( Part 2 )

'So it's like that…' Knight Claude's eyes widened as he felt the existence of Aura from Shane. After all, it wasn't easy to encounter another Survivor with such ability.

'This is a lot better…' Claude thought as he made the first move. He pounced toward Shane and made a horizontal slash…

From Shane's perspective, the attack seemed to lack speed, although it was very quick from the outsider's point of view.

Boom!

Shane parried the blow with his Club and even with the Aura activated, the impact sent vibrations up his arm.

'Ohh…'

This time, Shane realized that even if he had the upper hand in terms of strength, his Aura manipulation wasn't as great as Claude's technique.

Indeed, he realized from that clash that Claude may have weaker strength, but the Knight could actually use his Aura to pierce through his defense by accumulating them in a single point.

'Impressive… He probably realized the strength of my Aura upon my release.' Shane thought, implying that Claude must've tons of battle experience.

In any case, the attacks didn't stop as Claude used his momentum to continue finding his weakness.

Claude's strikes were swift as his Aura enhanced his speed and strength. Although Claude had lower agility and strength, he had a better way of using his Aura to enhance his fighting capabilities and not just surrounding himself with Aura to protect his body.

It was completely different from Shane's method of using Aura, which only aims to protect his whole body, including his internal organs.

'I should've asked Monk Chaloem to teach me proper technique.' Shane thought for a moment. Although he had Aura Master Talent that allowed him to create Aura, it was only for manifesting or releasing it around his body. As for how he could adequately manipulate them in combat, he had to explore it himself.

Of course, Shane was able to compensate for this with his quick reflex, speed, and strength as he countered all of the Knight's attacks with calculated swings of his Club…

He was observing Claude's Aura Technique and he also wanted to give a chance to this Knight since they were being watched by many people…

'Come on… Show me everything you got.' Shane thought as he cheered for the Knight to show what an Aura could achieve.

However, Shane also slowly tried to win as each move blocking the Knight's attack disrupted Claude's rhythm.

It wasn't some sort of trick but a Skill of the Club itself!

[ Bonecrusher Club ( Rare ) ]: Forged from the massive bones of the Crusher Zombie, this formidable Club is a testament to raw power and brutality.

Effects:

Crushing Impact: Each swing of the Crusherbone Club delivers a devastating blow, dealing 15% more damage to enemies and creating momentum disruption. ]

Actually, since it was only a rare item, Shane expected it to have only a single effect, such as adding agility, power, strength, critical points, crushing force, or some other effect.

He didn't expect that it would actually have an ability. Slowly, Shane was able to gain the upper hand even though he was just defending or parrying… After all, the Crushing Impact was always triggered during their clash.

The onlookers watched in awe as the two combatants clashed.

Everyone could tell that Claude's swordsmanship was truly high level since each strike was being done with graceful technique.

Shane, however, was no novice. He had Sword Mastery Skill and could use this ability well with his Club.

Furthermore, his experience in countless battles showed in his movements…

Claude noticed that the Bonecrusher Club was too tough and made it difficult for him to do some combination moves.

Because of that, he attempted a series of rapid strikes, aiming to overwhelm Shane. But Shane anticipated the move, sidestepping and bringing his Club down in a powerful arc.

Claude barely managed to block the blow, the force of it driving him back a few steps.

"Impressive," Claude said, his breath coming in short bursts.

"But let's see how you handle this."

Claude's Aura suddenly burst, and he launched into a berserk-like attack. His sword which was filled with Aura, had some sort of illusion!

Suddenly, it was as if Shane was dealing with five to seven swords at each exchange!

Shane squinted his eyes as he couldn't tell which one was true… In the end, he decided to defend against all of them and to his surprise, all swords he met with his Club had the sound of metal against bone echoing through the training ground.

It means that all those swords weren't illusions! Perhaps it was a sword made of Aura, or the man was just too quick, which made it seem like he was dealing with seven swords at a time!

'Awesome… No wonder he looked really proud of himself.' Shane thought. If his opponent wasn't him, he felt that the others would be defeated by such a technique.

However, despite Claude's enhanced speed or strange ability, Shane was able to stop all of it effortlessly.

After creating such a powerful move, the Knight felt tired or maybe too surprised that he didn't manage to win. Because of that, Shane saw an opening…

Realizing that he had seen enough, Shane planned to end this duel and take that map.

Then, he swung his Club in a wide arc, and he aimed for Claude's midsection.

Claude gritted his teeth and twisted to avoid the blow, but Shane followed up with a quick jab, catching Claude off guard. Although he was using a club, there was no rule that punching or kicking wasn't allowed.

Bam!

The impact sent Claude stumbling, and Shane noticed that Claude was able to actually defend with his quick Aura manipulation.

Claude actually managed to gather all of his Aura in a single point to defend against his punch!

Shane felt that Claude could still fight and pressed the advantage, delivering a decisive blow…

However, Claude swiftly recovered and managed to block Shane's punch by using the flat side of his blade!

Boom!

From this strike, however, Claude's Aura was already flickering… It was clear that Shane's attacks were taking their toll.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Then, Claude just felt that his sword suddenly flew out of his hand as it was suddenly struck by Shane's sword…

Indeed, Shane had just disarmed Claude, sending his sword flying across the ground.
