Chapter 317 "Hymn of the Celestial Eternal banishment!”

"Tier 5 Magic; Hymn of the Celestial: Eternal banishment!"

*Ting*

As soon as those words left his mouth, the woman tugged at the string of the Angelique, causing a huge amount of magic to rush out of her instrument, making a sharp, high-pitched noise that caused the imps to stop fighting and cover their ears.

*Thud!*

One by one, these imps started to fall to their knees while clutching their ears, including the ones that were already hiding themselves as humans among the villagers. Seeing the sight, everyone backed away a little in fear before looking up in the air at the source of such grand-scale magic.

All they saw was a cloaked figure floating in the air with an angel floating behind him. Seeing the sight, a sense of reverence budded inside the hearts of the village people.

*Woosh!*

Suddenly, the imps turned to dust and disappeared without leaving a trace.

"Who is that? Is he a mage from the capital?" The adventurers started talking among themselves as they looked at each other. Experience tales with empire

"Flight magic? Isn't that tier 4 Magic, and what was the magic he just used?" While they were talking among themselves, the villagers fell to their knees, thanking the mage for saving their lives.

"Ignoring the villagers," the mage made the woman behind him disappear and cast another spell, pointing his hands in the direction of the place the dark mage was hiding.

Suddenly, the space around his hands started to swirl, and the next second he was holding the same man by the neck in the air.

"How…?" Ignoring the panicked and shocked state of the figure, the mage raised his hands and removed the hood of the figure, seeing a pair of unsettling eyes looking at him.

They were black eyes with several pupils moving in all directions at the same time. Other than his eyes, his body shape was mostly similar to that of a human, except for his blood-red skin and a pair of pointed horns on his head.

Just from a single touch, the mage could feel that the man had skin tougher than any human ever to exist.

"A demon, huh…" The mage muttered before placing his free hand on the head of the demon, scaring him. "Memory Search!"

His eyes flashed with the recent memories of the demons before, and all the information was directly transferred into his mind.

"So there were several attacks like these on other small settlements." After finishing analyzing the memories, the mage released the grip on his hands.

*Bang!*

Everyone on the ground backed away as a shadow rushed in their direction. They thought it was the mage who saved them from descending. But when the demon fell to the ground with a bang from a height of 20 meters, the sight of his body scared everyone. Due to the fall, his bones were twisted inside his thick skin without piercing it.

Everyone was so scared at the sight of a dead demon falling from the sky that they did not even realize that the mage had long disappeared from his place.

He reappeared far away from the village and looked in different directions before muttering. "This should be close enough."

'Tier 4 magic; True Clones.' he chanted the name of the magic in his mind, and four identical clones wearing the same outfits and masks appeared from behind him and looked at him.

"Go in each direction and deal with all the demons. Since each one of you is only at the level of a Tier 6 Mage, you can self-destruct yourself to deal with a powerful opponent but keep the casualties to a minimum." Hearing the instructions of their creator, all the clones disappeared in different directions.

"Where are the Majors when I need them?" Standing behind a table filled with a map of the whole continent and the strategic display of army formations in several places in the middle of a closed tent, a rowdy-looking old man with a long beard shouted at the top of his lungs.

He was wearing scale mail armor underneath his enchanted armor, along with a katana hanging to the side of his waist.

As soon as he shouted, ten men of various age groups rushed over inside the room and stood before him, looking at him with fear and admiration.

"What is the status of the battlefield? Did the general of the demon army appear till now or not?" Seeing all the majors present in front of him, he asked out loud firmly. Hearing his words, the majors looked at each other before shaking their heads.

"No, Sir! None of our soldiers had sighted the enemy general till now, but I did get news that some of the villages at the edge of our country are being attacked by the imps." A middle-aged major came forward and reported to him.

"What about the rest of you?" The general looked at the rest of the members present in the room.

"We have received the same news from our side as well." They all nodded and explained how they got the same call. Hearing their words, the old man narrowed his eyes and contemplated for a while before asking, "Did you send anyone to deal with those imps, then?"

"About that…" the same middle-aged man who spoke first now seemed hesitant to speak again and looked at the rest of the majors.

"What is it, speak up." The old man scowled, "We are in the middle of the war, we don't have time to dawdle! Can your idiot brains not comprehend that?"

Hearing his screaming, the middle-aged man gulped his saliva and opened his mouth to speak.

"The imps have been dealt with by me." But before he could open his mouth, everyone saw the general reaching for his sword as another voice replied in his stead. Everyone moved their heads to look at the source of the voice and saw a cloaked man standing behind their general with his hands on the handle of the old man's katana.

"Attacking your own back-up, that's not the way to go, old man." The masked man saw the sharp look in the eyes of everyone in the room and chuckled a little. He could feel the tension in the room brewing with each passing second.

The old man suddenly relaxed his body and let go of his hand that was placed on the sword, making the tension in the room vanish in an instant.

"You must be a member of the hero party." He spoke with a little sense of acceptance in his tone as he gave the mage a quick scan after turning around. "I must say I was skeptical when I heard that a mage was the most powerful member of the hero's party, but now that I see you, I think the rumors do you no good."

'The general praised someone?' All the majors looked at the masked man in shock as they saw their general looking at the masked man with a weird glow in his eyes.

"Hero party?" They looked at each other in shock and muttered before looking at the mage in a new light.

"Weren't you supposed to arrive at the Royal City's teleportation gate, what are you doing here?" The old general asked in confusion.

Hearing his words, the mage paused and replied, "That's what I would like to know as well." His voice had an unusual sharpness to it.

"Where is the demon army's general?" He changed the topic, thinking of leaving this place soon after completing his task. He was starting to feel that something bad was about to happen, and he knew better than to just ignore his instincts.

"He has yet to show himself."

The general wanted to ask how he dealt with all the imps across the continent, but he decided to leave the question for later. "We should deal with the army before the general shows himself; blindly rushing in would only cause casualties."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"I don't have time to wait." He replied before closing his eyes and chanting, "Grand magic Sense!"

A huge amount of magical power gushed out of his body and covered the entire battlefield in an instant. Not finding the being he was looking for, he increased the span of his search.

"Found you!" Muttering those words, he disappeared from the room leaving the rest gawking at the spot he stood.
