Chapter 136 A Dance with the Moon| Moonveil!
The soft glow of enchanted lamps illuminated the hallway as Pyris made his way toward Selara Moonveil's office. His heart pounded with anticipation—not out of fear, but from the calculated decision he had made.
Today, he wasn't just going to admire her beauty from afar. He was going to express his interest.
He approached the large oak door of the Moonveil office, knocking gently before entering. The door creaked open, revealing a room filled with ancient tomes and softly glowing magical artifacts.
Behind a desk of dark oak sat Selara Moonveil, her moonlit white hair cascading over her shoulders, shimmering in the room's light.
She was in the midst of reading an ancient text, her delicate fingers tracing its worn pages.
"Ah, Pyris," she greeted, her eyes lifting from the book to meet his gaze. "What brings you here?"
Pyris stepped forward with his usual air of confidence, closing the door behind him. "You do," he said smoothly, a smirk tugging at his lips.
Selara raised an eyebrow, her gaze both curious and wary. "I'm sure that isn't the official reason for your visit."
Pyris leaned casually against the desk, his eyes never leaving hers. "It's true, Teacher Selara. The academy, the lessons... those are just formalities. What I came for—today—was to speak with you, more personally."
Her posture stiffened slightly, though her expression remained unreadable. "And what, exactly, would you like to discuss?"
Pyris met her gaze directly, his voice steady and smooth. "You already know how drawn I am to you. It's no secret, not to me, and certainly not to you. And I don't intend to play games or waste time pretending otherwise."
Your journey continues with empire
Selara's eyes flickered with something unreadable—surprise, perhaps? Amusement? "You're direct, Pyris. But what exactly are you asking for?"
"I'm asking for nothing—yet," Pyris replied, a teasing grin on his lips. "But what I do want is to know more about you, beyond the powerful figure everyone sees. There's... more there, and I want to unravel it."
A silence hung between them, heavy and tense. Selara studied him carefully, as though weighing her response. Pyris could feel her probing gaze, like she was trying to see through his bravado. He didn't falter, didn't flinch.
Finally, she leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms. "You're bold, I'll give you that," she said. "But do you think this will be easy?"
"Nothing worth having ever is," Pyris responded with a soft chuckle. "And I wouldn't want it to be."
Her lips curled into the faintest of smiles before she rose from her chair, gracefully moving to stand closer to him. "We'll see about that, Pyris. We'll see if you can handle what you're asking for."
To her Pyris was a slightly special kid who thought could have her just like others, she would surely entertain herself watching him make fool of himself.

Later that evening, as Pyris walked away from Selara's office, a familiar voice echoed in his mind.
["Now we need to focus on something far more complicated. The Legacies. They're not just students, they are the most dangerous players in the academy."] Lia's voice cut through the silence, bringing Pyris back to reality.
Pyris's smile faded as he listened to Lia. "I know. They're powerful... and influential. But I won't avoid them forever."
["Exactly. That's the problem, Pyris. These Legacies aren't just ordinary students or even ordinary elites. They are the future leaders of their families, dynasties, and kingdoms. Each one has a long line of influence and power behind them."]
Pyris's mind began to turn. "I can't fight them directly—there's no need to struggle with these kids. But I can influence them from the shadows."
["Good. Subtlety will be key here. First, you need to understand the power dynamics. Most of the Legacies already see themselves as above the academy—they don't care about the rules, and they certainly won't bow to anyone who isn't one of them."]
"So how do we handle them? We can't just make enemies of them all," Pyris said thoughtfully.
["We don't have to," Lia said, her voice cunning. ["We'll target them individually, find their weaknesses, and gain influence over them one by one. But the key is not letting them see us coming. For that, you need a plan for each of them."]
Pyris nodded. "I've seen their type before—driven by ego, and always competing for dominance."
["Exactly. They're not a unified group. They're legacies of different families, different nations, and different ambitions. They may act like they're allies, but they're just waiting for the moment to strike at each other. And that's where we come in. We play them off each other."]
Pyris leaned back, considering Lia's words. "Divide and conquer, then. But what about the ones I can't manipulate so easily?"
["That's where.... If you can get close enough to some of the women, you'll have an inside advantage—controlling them from within their ranks. The men, on the other hand, will require more direct force. But we'll get to that when the time comes."]
Pyris smiled darkly. "So the plan is to start with the ones who are the most vulnerable. I'll use my charm and influence to get them on my side, or at least make them question their loyalty to the group? You're twisted Lia"
["Yes, and when the time is right, we destroy their unity. Once they're fractured, you'll have the upper hand. The academy will be yours, and eventually, you'll have control over their families' influence in the mortal realm."]
Pyris nodded, feeling the weight of the plan settle over him. "So, who's our first target?" Pyris though, had really different plans and approach to this, before they confronted him, he will be low-key.
But he knew they will!
Lia's voice took on a teasing edge. ["Oh, you already know. The princesses, the daughters of the strongest families... they'll be the easiest to charm. Once we have them, the men will follow—or fall."]
The next day, the web of shadows and seduction would begin to tighten around the Legacies, and Pyris would make his first move!Nôv(el)B\\jnn
