"Lin Su..." Li Hong whispered the name on the screen, silently flipping through it and soon sharply turned to look at the man. "A researcher? And with so many achievements?"

"Yeah." The man chuckled and teased as he watched Li Hong's changing expressions. "How about that? Regret messing with someone's mindset earlier, huh? A few kind words and perhaps he would have chosen to join your team, but now... I don't think it's likely."

"No." Li Hong shook his head, "I'm aware of my limits. Teaching him some training is okay, but if he were to really join a team, it's better if he joins Xing Yun's team, it would be safer. However, you are right about one thing, I am indeed regretting something."

"Regretting what?" The man couldn't help but ask curiously.

"I regret telling him during the fight to charge to the front!" Li Hong scratched his head, "People like him, with special talent, should be standing in the very center of the team, protected by layers of teammates, it's best if he doesn't go to the battlefield and stays safely in the rear."

"Hah..." The man was amused by Li Hong's words. "You're playing double standards, huh?"

"What's wrong with double standards?" Li Hong tossed the butt of his cigarette into a nearby trash can and held his head high, justifying himself boldly, "In my life, I admire those involved in scientific research the most!"

As Li Hong left the cabin, whispers among the newcomers began to stir.

Although after Li Hong's explanation, there was much less resentment, but discontent towards him was inevitable.

All were capable students who had been able to enroll at Mountain City University, so naturally they were intelligent. Reflecting on the earlier conversation, the students soon realized that the instructor named Li Hong was totally playing with their minds.

He wondered whether the team selection would be random or if he could choose his own teammates.

If he could choose, that would be fine, but if it was random… then it would truly be left to chance.

Just don't end up with a terrible teammate.

Beyond the training camp's procedures, the rules of the battlefield at the frontline were also areas Lin Su needed to pay attention to.

Firstly, it was the environment of ice and dark elements within Immortal Country.

It had to be said, such environments were incredibly advantageous for Qiuqiu and Ghost Ghost in combat.

Even if it meant needing to exert more effort than his teammates in the subsequent missions, for Lin Su, this was still good news.

Thus, he believed that even within the confines of Immortal Country's rules, the synchronization orbs must still be usable.

As for why synchronization orbs, being technological products, could ignore these rules...

Perhaps it had something to do with their ability to merge with Beast Taming Space?

"Lin Su, big bro!"

A voice pulled Lin Su from his thoughts, and he turned to see a male student sitting behind him. The student smiled, glanced around, and then spoke in a low voice.

"I've already gathered nine people, big bro. Do you want to join us? It would make a perfect ten-man squad!"

Beside him, several other students also looked expectantly at Lin Su.

"The instructor didn't say we could choose our own teammates. What if it's a random assignment?" Lin Su couldn't help but say.

"We're preparing for both possibilities," the student smiled. "If it really is a random assignment, then naturally there's nothing to discuss, but if we can choose our own teammates, wouldn't it be useful to have already agreed on teammates?"

"That makes sense," Lin Su nodded in agreement and then spoke, "But sorry, I have no plans to form a team yet. Try asking someone else."

He didn't know any of the nine people in the group and naturally couldn't so easily agree.
