Chapter 1171: Bodhi Banquet

Following Lekima's departure, Han Li scoured the entire courtyard with his spiritual sense, and only after verifying that nothing was amiss did he set up a few layers of restrictions before making his way into a room deep inside the courtyard.

He set up several more layers of restrictions there, and only then did he enter the Flower Branch domain, where he was immediately approached by Xiao Bai.

"Alright, there's no one else here aside from the two of us, tell me what happened with Jin Tong," Han Li said in a serious manner.

"After we parted ways, Boss and I traveled to the Golden Origin Immortal Region and found the Gold Devouring Immortal that you mentioned to us. Boss was able to devour that Gold Devouring Immortal and reach the Great Encompassment Stage," Xiao Bai recounted.

Han Li's eyes lit up slightly upon hearing this, only to then be replaced by a grim look.

The fact that Jin Tong had been captured even after reaching the Great Encompassment Stage meant that her captor had to have been extremely powerful, so saving her was undoubtedly going to be very difficult.

"What we failed to anticipate was that the Gold Devouring Immortal had an owner, and it was a very powerful figure in the Nine Origins Temple. He personally pursued Boss and me, and we fled for many years, but were ultimately unable to get away. In the end, that man captured Boss, but she was able to tear open space to allow me to escape, and she told me to go and find you. I didn't think that I would see you so soon," Xiao Bai continued.

"Do you know the name of Jin Tong's captor and his status in the Nine Origins Temple?" Han Li asked.

Xiao Bai shuddered slightly as a hint of lingering fear flashed through his eyes, and he replied, "His name is Gui Lingzi, and he seems to be one of the Nine Origins Temple's four holy envoys."

He had heard about Gui Lingzi from Lan Yan, and according to her, Gui Lingzi was the leader of the four holy envoys and was even more powerful than Immortal Lord Miao Fa.

Immortal Lord Miao Fa was already a huge pain to deal with, let alone an even more formidable Gui Lingzi.

"The only silver lining is that Gui Lingzi didn't have any intention of harming Boss. Instead, it seems like he wants to offer up Boss to someone else during a Bodhi Banquet or something like that, so she's not in any danger for now," Xiao Bai added.

Han Li raised an eyebrow upon hearing this. He had never heard of this Bodhi Banquet before.

After a brief moment of contemplation, he put on his Reincarnation Palace mask and offered a reward for information on the Bodhi Banquet, while Xiao Bai waited obediently off to the side.

To Han Li's surprise, a response came in very quickly, and as it turned out, the Bodhi Banquet was a prestigious event held by the Heavenly Court once every five million years.

The Bodhi Banquet's origins came from a Bodhi Dao Tree in the Heavenly Court. It was said that the tree had sprouted at the beginning of time, and that the Bodhi Dao Fruits that it produced granted the consumer an increase of ten millions years worth of cultivation base per fruit.

Furthermore, those who consumed the Bodhi Dao Fruit had a chance of attaining the Bodhi Dao Physique, which was immensely beneficial for the cultivation of all law powers.

Originally, the Bodhi Dao Tree could only produce fruit once every hundreds of millions of years, but the Time Dao Ancestor of the Heavenly Court had used his unfathomable powers to accelerate the process, making the tree bear fruit once every five million years.

Before long, there was too little supply of Bodhi Dao Fruits to meet the increasing demand, and all of the powers began offering extremely valuable gifts to the Time Dao Ancestor in the hopes of securing a fruit.

Initially, the Bodhi Banquet was only an event held to discuss how the Bodhi Dao Fruits should be distributed, but with more and more powers taking part, it became an event for different powers to deepen ties with one another, discuss major events, and establish alliances.

At this point, the Bodhi Banquet was already the undisputed number one event in the entire True Immortal Realm, and there were only less than three thousand years left until the next Bodhi Banquet.

Han Li's brows furrowed slightly as this information came to light.

There was a very good chance that Gui Lingzi intended to offer up Jin Tong to the Time Dao Ancestor during the Bodhi Banquet.

According to the information provided by the Reincarnation Palace, the Time Dao Ancestor was very fond of all types of exotic treasures and creatures, and a Great Encompassment Stage Gold Devouring Immortal certainly fell into that category.

There was still a chance that Han Li would be able to save Jin Tong from Gui Lingzi, but if she were to fall into the Time Dao Ancestor's hands, then she would be lost forever.

Even though Wyrm 3 had told him that there was a mission regarding the Nine Origins Temple in which the Reincarnation Palace would be able to help him rescue Jin Tong, he still had to rely mostly on himself, and a mere three thousand years was certainly not a lot of time to prepare.

If he wanted to advance further in his cultivation base, then he would have to find two suitable time-attribute law materials that could elevate the number of time law threads of his Eastern Vicissitudes Divine Tree and his Illusory Dawn Hourglass, but such items were extremely rare.

He had already gotten very lucky with that Water Divination Time Crystal, could he expect to get lucky twice more?

"I'll think of a way to save Jin Tong. You've only just woken up, and you need to recover, so you can take these," Han Li said as he swept a sleeve through the air to summon a large pile of immortal treasures and materials for Xiao Bai to consume.

Xiao Bai's eyes instantly lit up upon seeing this, and he hurriedly thanked Han Li, but right as he was about to dig into the feast laid out before him, a thought suddenly occurred to him.

"Oh, by the way, while Boss and I were hunting for that Gold Devouring Immortal, we snuck into the Nine Origins Temple, and I found this in there. I'm unable to digest it, and I'm hoping that it'll be useful to you."

Han Li's eyes instantly lit up with elation at the sight of the bowl, which was giving off time law power fluctuations that were very similar to those of the Illusory Dawn Hourglass.

He immediately picked up Xiao Bai and began rubbing his head vigorously in excitement as he said, "Well done, Xiao Bai! This is exactly what I needed!"

"I'm glad to hear that," Xiao Bai replied with a wide grin, then flew away to the side with the immortal treasures and materials given to him by Han Li.

Meanwhile, Han Li picked up the bowl again, and the more he looked at it, the more excited he became.

He took a deep breath to compose himself, then sat down and channeled his Great Five Elemental Illusion Mantra, upon which five bursts of golden light surged out of his body, then came together to form a golden ring around the yellow bowl.

The bowl immediately shattered, and countless specks of golden light that resembled glowing particles of sand emerged from within before fusing into the golden ring.

As many as sixty-three time law threads then emerged from the golden ring, all of which wrapped themselves around the Illusory Dawn Hourglass.

The time law powers within Han Li's body swelled drastically once again, and they also began to circulate in a smoother fashion than before, much to his elation.

Now, all that was left was to find a time law material that was compatible with his Eastern Vicissitudes Divine Tree, and he would be able to make more attempts at reaching the Great Encompassment Stage.

With that in mind, Han Li pulled out his Reincarnation Palace mask and increased the price that he was offering for time-attribute law materials by 50%.

The Bodhi Banquet was not far away, and he had to reach the Great Encompassment State before then in order to have any chance of saving Jin Tong.

He had over seventy million Immortal Origin Stones at the moment, so there was more than enough for him to spend on time-attribute law materials.

After taking off his Reincarnation Palace mask, Han Li emerged from the Flower Branch domain, then made his way out into the courtyard and instructed the servants outside to inform Lekima that he was planning to continue to stay on Eight Plains Mountain.

After that, he returned to his room, then reentered the Flower Branch domain before sweeping a sleeve through the air to release the Essence Fire Child.

"I have to do something very important in a few centuries that may require your power, so stay here in seclusion and focus on refining the white bead. I'll find a way to recover what you've lost," he instructed.

The Essence Fire Child nodded in response, then flew over to a corner of the Flower Branch domain, where it transformed into a silver fireball that was around ten feet in size, and the white bead was hovering within it, giving off tremendous fire law power fluctuations.

A pleased look appeared on Han Li's face upon seeing this, and he turned his gaze to the bamboo pavilion in the distance.

Ghostly howls were still ringing out from within, and it was unclear when Weeping Soul would come out of seclusion.

After turning his gaze away from the bamboo pavilion, he flipped a hand over to summon a palm-sized jade tablet, upon which was engraved the diagram for the Celestial Time Array.

He was worried that his memory of the array diagram would fade over time, so he had engraved it onto this jade tablet.

There were still many things that he had to do in addition to progressing to the Great Encompassment Stage, including honing his Almighty Sword Array, Reversal True Axis, and Mantra Domain, so he definitely wasn't going to have enough time. However, if he could replicate that space in the True Mantra Sect in which time flowed far faster than elsewhere, then time would no longer be a problem.

There was an important issue that he still had to address in order to set up a space like the one in the True Mantra Sect, but he was still planning to commence the process anyway.
