Number One Dungeon Supplier

Chapter 2168 Long Live The King

The addendum to the contract had been written and the parties on each side had unanimously agreed to the new clauses. With that, the Dashavatara sighed before leaving the area. Naturally, they requested Lord Vishnu to return with them as well but the God of Preservation said that he rather stays within Ress as an excuse for mediation in seclusion for the moment.

Seeing that he was their lord, they could not reject his request and unwillingly agreed to it. At that point, they graciously bowed to their Lord and nodded their heads towards Jin before they left for Lyro where the group will recoup within those conditions. The interdimensional barrier would continue to be maintained by the System but Jin also set up the isolation barriers once again.

As much as he was expecting the demons to help play a part in this conflict since they found their natural enemy, they did not expect that almost all of them would go to hiding the moment the night starry skies turned all white. Most of them scurried to their hiding places or even returned to their dimensions the moment they saw the sea of celestials clouding over Northern Skies.

But that does not mean the Demons would not take advantage of the current situation. Of course, now that they know the humans are not in cahoots with the Celestials, they would not bother the humans for now.

In fact, they might even work with them to see if they wanted a partnership in the long term so that should Celestials ever come to hit them again, the Demons can be a major ally for the humans' fight against the Celestials.

As much as Jin hoped that this to happen, and he believed that it was possible for it to happen because of how he had gotten the Daemon Mage Corps up and running, there was the deal he made with the Celestials. Although they would be staying for only a week or two at most after their recuperation, the humans are now cooperating with the Celestials, just as the Demons had feared.

Therefore, he had put up the isolation barrier, perhaps even triple the layer to cover the scent of the Celestials and only a select battalion of Rifle Mages would be liaising with the Celestials. Otherwise, if the Demon caught a whiff of cooperation, they might start their clashes with the humans once more.

But what the citizens of Ress did not know was that there was a certain group of 'people' who had also been keeping the 'idiot' demons away from the battlefield so that they could keep their focus on the fight against the Celestials. The Empire that Kraft had desecrated had been useful behind the scenes.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

The zombies and mutated zombies controlled by his Star Foxes had been keeping the lower grade Demons at bay from the entire fight. With their zombified manpower, the Star Foxes was able to stand guard and keep a buffer so that the stupider demons did not have the chance to interfere. That included the humans who were curious of the fight and the never ending daylight caused by the Celestials.

Their Sun and Moons had been blocked, causing the fight against the Celestials to be solely in the day.

But with the zombies, the humans knew how ferocious those mutated zombies were and the number of losses they could incur, most of the remaining kingdoms decided to watch from afar.

On the other hand, Jin had a lot on his plate despite earning the opportunity to get the Dashavatara to surrender, not allowing a cycle of vicious killing to happen. He might have accomplished his long term goals but in reality, those were just promises which do not appease the current kingdom's situation.

A lot of what he had built in the past year had been damaged and the fight in the underground networks had caused more damage than expected. He did not expect the fighting to be so intense even though it was approximately a week's worth of it. The amount of shells and ammunition he had expended was close to touching his emergency reserves.

Medication nearly became a problem as well but because the System was in touch with the preparation, the situation was not as bad as he thought it would be.

Now, what he needed to do was to rebuild the kingdom at least to its former glory and settle whether the King still wanted to isolate the kingdom away from prying eyes or leave it be and allow the minister to rule this kingdom.

After all, with this contract done with the Celestials, the System had notified that he had completed his trial and the moment he left Atopia and returned to his world, the remaining 3 years he needed to stay in Ress would be gone in a flash due to the extreme differences in time.

Meanwhile, the System will continue to monitor the situation for the moment and take stock of the possible resources it could garner once Jin returns to the real world. After all, there would be no going back to when Jin entered his world. The trial would be completed and Jin had to move on with life.

Ress would be an experience he could never return again unless the System does something about it which the Dungeon Supplier believed that he would. What started out as a plan to improve Baal's demonic powers became something that he wished he could have stayed and enjoyed it a little longer.

Regardless, Jin decided to stay a little while longer and help to make sure that things would stabilise before he went. It might be the sentimentalities that were holding him back, it might be his responsibilities but despite it all, he knew that the entirety of Ress deserved a huge celebration for what they had done.

The King of Ress did the impossible by not only keeping the Celestials at Bay but forcing them to surrender to him. Perhaps, the title of the Discarded King might ring true after all. He discarded all the values and traditions that the Kingdom held onto and brought in new ones so that they were able to be a step ahead of everyone on this planet.

Long Live Ress, Long Live the King.
